I'm staying at the Kamuela Inn for my job. I'm staying in a room with a kitchenette. The walls are all covered with spider webs and suspicious stains. The white curtains are dirty, sticky. The refrigerator door is covered with nasty dark and orange stains. The room has an extremely nauseating stink which woke me up every hour. I wear... more

As the Big Island is so large and we wanted to see as much of it as possible, we decided to stay somewhere different for each of our four nights on the island. The north side was the first point of interest, and therefore we chose Waiema/Kamuela area. From previous reviews I was a little worried about staying here, but... more

This place is not a bed & breakfast!!!! It is a disgusting little whole in beautiful Waimea !! Unfortunately, it is advertised as this wonderful B& B, well folks it is not even close to a B&B it is a motel! A cock roach infested motel with your B& B breakfast consisting of old muffins from Costco (they wait until... more

This place is a no frills budget place. The good news is the more you save on the hotel, the more you can spend on dinner at one of the fabulous nearby restaurants -- like Merriman's which was within walking distance. We spent three times our motel room on dinner, so we were quite happy to have skimped on the... more

I'm staying at the Kamuela Inn right now, and am quite satisfied by the accommodations. This is solidly a 2-star place. That said, it is bright, and clean and the room I'm in has more than enough room for me, a single traveler. The morning breakfast is still there until 10 AM, but no free coffee throughout the day. I... more

I was travelling alone and wanted to stay a night in the Waimea region before heading to a conference near Hilo the next afternoon and only needed a quiet room. That is what I told the woman on the phone at the Kamuela Inn when I booked the room two weeks prior to arrival. The woman on the line said... more

The Kamuela Inn is probably the best value for accomodations in Kamuela (Waimea). It's a very, very basic motel with a competent staff, cheap rooms (~$70-90/night), and a modest continental breakfast (muffins, bagels, etc.). One thing that I will say is that there's a huge degree of variability between the rooms in terms of comfort, size, and decor. Some of... more

We just stayed at the Kamuela Inn in the Suite with kitchenette (2nd floor, $89 per day). Based on the photos from their website, I had the impression the suite was in much better condition. Well, that was not the case as the room was definitely out of date from the photos with some peeling paint and plaster here and... more

I really like Kamuela Inn and have stayed their about 10 years ago. This time around with my husband and 3 young children we were given a real bad time by one of the receptionists, I think she was a manager. They gave us a room that apparently was suited for 3 people, which I had no idea when we... more

The Kamuela Inn is a nice, quiet friendly place to stay. I've stayed there twice now and never had any problems. The rooms are not huge but very comfortable. There are muffins, juice, coffee etc available at breakfast time and coffee is available all day. You're close to everything in Wiamia and its only a 30-40 min senic drive to... more
