Located on a hill on the Kona side of the Big Island (Hawaii) with an incredible "180" view of the ocean (as far as the eye can see), peaceful, private. Hot tub, swimming pool, 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. About 1/2 hr north of Kona airport. Delicious breakfast always includes fresh fruit. TV (Dish) in both rooms. Restaurants and shopping areas... more

The review above is extremely accurate about Makai Hale. Its beautiful and peaceful. There is an amazing panoramic view of the ocean from the room. The breakfast is delicious. The rooms are immaculate. The most beautiful beaches are just a few minutes away. I definitely reccommend Makai Hale to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation. more

Stayed at the Makai Hale for a week on our honeymoon in October of 2004. We were in Honolulu for five days before which was great but not very relaxing, it was like any other city.
