Great location! I'm writing this from the free laptop provided. One day left and we don't want to leave. Annette and Palle have thought of everything. From a fully equipped cottage to excellent information on all we wanted to do, we couldn't have asked for more. Loved the Akaka zip lining, Botanical Tropical Gardens, Volcanoes National Park, and of course... More

We stayed for two weeks and every evening it was a pleasure to return to this delightful cottage. Annette and Palle the owners live on site and are so knowledgeable about the Big Island - Fodors watch out!! You want for nothing as everything you need is included. We would not hesitate to stay again should we return to Hawaii.... More

This is a great location for the Big Island - and the cottage was impecable! I immediately felt at home there. My biggest surprise though was how the cottage was so well stocked. Beach chairs, snorkel gear, robes, slippers, fruit, and all of the extras you would need for cooking. Annette made me feel so welcome and she provided so... More

Just like the last year: The ideal hub for exploring the island! Getting around by car ist easy and saddle road has further been improved over the last 12 months. The place is situated on the dry side of the island, so we did not get all the rain that fell on the Hilo side (there was a massive storm... More

After exploring Oahu and Kauai on earlier trips we decided to go to the big island. All in all we stayed at the plumeria for three weeks. In short: Everything was just perfect! The hosts are wonderful people, They provided us with very helpful tips about the island. The place itself is clean and inviting. Geting around from Kamuela is easy.... More

Our trip to the Big Island was a very memorable experience primarily because of our accommodations and recommendations from our gracious hosts. We wanted a local experience as our stay was 6 weeks on the island. From the warm and friendly welcome upon our late night arrival to stocking the refrigerator for a morning breakfast, Annette and Pally made our... More

Thank you so much for everything. We had a fabulous time enjoying your beautiful island. So much to see and do and we still didn't get everything done. We hope to be back again someday and will definitely be staying here again. [In the Plumeria] our stay was beautiful, relaxing and we wanted for nothing [we had it all]. A... More

Our cottage, Hale Plumeria, was lovely and spotlessly clean with plenty of cozy touches that made us feel very welcome. Our hosts know and love their island very well and provided their own guide booklet full of fun and inexpensive things to do. The location was convenient for us, as we wanted to explore the northern part of the island,... More

We stayed in the Hale Kea Cottage twice (summer 2007 & summer 2009). We felt very welcome and always were looking forward to "coming home" to this place after our daily excursions around the island. The cottage was really well outfitted, very clean and comfortable. We never saw a bug or any other critter in this place, as the owners... More

My husband and I have stayed in Hale Kea two years in a row. We stayed for two weeks in Jan. 2009 and in Jan. 2010 for three weeks. We are already planning our trip for 2011!! The owners, Annette and Palle were so very helpful with information on what to do on the Island during our stay. The cottage... More
