We spent 3 nights in the studio at Waimea Gardens. It is very well designed, perfectly clean and had everything we needed. Charlie even supplied an outdoor grill for our use. The shower was very cool. If you go, you'll see why. The location is quiet, private and secluded but just a short drive to great beaches and snorkeling. We also... More

We stayed at the Waimea Cottage at Waimea Gardens for 4 nights. It is spacious. And it is decorated so than it feels like a home. We played the Hawaiian CDs all of the time. The private patio was neat. Barbara and Charlie were away on vacation; but their housekeeper, Heather, was a good host. The breakfast supplies in the... More

Barbara and Charlie are excellent hosts. We stayed for 8 nights and wish it could have been much longer. The Waimea area is awesome, definitely country, quiet and comfortable. Very clean and well taken care of.

We stayed at Kohala cottage (warm and cosy atmosphere) for three nights. It has most of the usual amenities (but no dishwasher, washing machine or dryer). It is well located, but we found it a bit noisy because it's quite close to a road : moreover, the gardeners were working on our terrace while we were having breakfast inside the... More

We did not want to leave when our stay was over! This is one classy cottage. The cottage is just the right size and perfectly decorated. Loved the breakfast provisions in the refrigerator so we could choose what we wanted and when in the morning. Barbara and Charlie are superb hosts.

Waimea Garden Cottages is an ideal location for a quite getaway in North Kohala. We had a great time hiking the Pu'u Umi Forest Reserve and it was just great to have the great Pu'u(s) of North Kohala in your own private backyard! The Waimea Cottage was perfect for us - with its red brick patio and inviting front porch.... More

We just spent a very pleasant week here. our cottage was a very nice size with a full kitchen. The cottage (the Kohala) is fully equipped with plenty of storage room. large bathroom with out door garden area. It is very quite and peaceful, close to restaurants and stores - a bit to far to walk, but a short drive. 10-15... More

My wife and I stayed 4 nites in Waimea Cottage during a 6 nite stay on the Big Island. It proved idyllic and a great value. This next bit I owe to Barbara, our gracious host: When you arrive and she shows you around , do not fall into my trap of starting to ask questions that start as "Does... More

We stayed in three B&Bs during a one-week trip to the Big Island. This one was our favorite. Our cottage (Kohala) is attached to the other cottage, but we never heard any noise, and our privacy was never disturbed. The cottage is well-equipped. It has a whirlpool tub, a full kitchen (small refrigerator only), and a daybed that would suit... More

Barbara greeted us in this cute and extremely well maintained cottage that woud feel just right in the English countryside - Only it's in Hawaii! We only stayed for one night but we were delighted by our stay.
