We spent two nights here while we explored the Hilo side of the island. We were delighted with our beautiful room and bamboo four poster bed! The receptionist at the front desk (a beautiful antique- the desk, not the receptionist!), greeted us and pointed out the many amenities provided at the inn (umbrellas, coolers to fill with ice, hundreds of... Yes, the Palms Cliff House Inn is a lovely place. The comfortable rooms give a terrific view of the ocean, too. A very sweet lady prepared a personal breakfast for us in the morning. However - there is a next door ROOSTER that must be dealt with! The bird started squawking at 3:00am and continued non-stop every minute until 8:00... More

Beautiful location with exceptionally friendly staff. The breakfasts were fantastic and the rooms all had their own lanai (patio). A highly recommended property although the drive to the inn isn't well marked.

The Palms Cliff House Inn is about 20 minutes north of Hilo, perched atop some majestic cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The staff was really friendly and accommodating and friendly. The front side of the inn, near the parking lot, leaves a little to be desired, but the back-side, overlooking the grounds and ocean is really amazing. The sunrise was... More

We spent three nights at the Palms Cliff House and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was nice, the grounds are nice, the staff is very nice. No issues other than the room safe which did not want to open again after locking some stuff up in it. The room maintenance person was able open it again. The breakfast was... More

We had a great stay at the Palm's. Great location just a little outside of Hilo. Breakfasts were very very good. Rooms super clean with excellent views. Unlike some reviewers we found the staff and owners to be really nice and helpful. A couple minor things that would make the Palms better... At $280 per night to charge a quarter... More

Room was nice and clean with many amenities. Great views of the ocean with many places to sit on the Lanai. Small grounds. Due to our schedule we were unable to eat breakfast at the Inn. We left the sliding door open hoping to hear whales, but only heard the chickens and the coqui frogs. 20 minute drive to Hilo... More

We arrived late at night, missing the entrance once, for our one night stay. Upon arrival we were stunned at the beauty of the surroundings and our room. The place is like a mini plantation over looking beautiful cliffs and stunning ocean. The decor and all details are very tasteful. We woke up an hour earlier, just to be able... More

We stayed four nights. Beautiful location, loved the lanai and proximity to the ocean. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious every morning; however the owner's wife did not speak to us although we saw her around several times. The grounds needed some cleanup. All in all, an enjoyable stay.

The small boutique hotel (or is that "motel" because of outside entrance corridors close to parking area) didn't quite hit the mark. Okay rooms, fairly clean, with nice verandas looking out to ocean but partially obstructed views due to palms and foliage. And oddly enough as another recent reviewer also noted, the jets in the tub were indeed dirty. Also... More
