We spent a night here before a hike in Waipio Valley. It is the perfect place to stay. Jacqueline is a marvellous hostess and very accommodating. We were checking in late after a sunset trip and were welcomed with a lovely note on the door on our arrival. In the morning we enjoyed a fabulous sea view from our room.... More

We stayed in several B&B's on Big Island, but this was our favorite place with a really fair pricing (some of the other B&B's are totally overpriced). It's a wonderful house with beautiful rooms on a prime location just a few minutes drive from famous Waipio Valley. Most important though, Jacqueline, the host, is such a charming person who prepares... More

As soon as I walked up to the door to greet a little note that said 'welcome Joanna' I felt right at home. Jacqueline is the most gracious host I have met on my travels. The moon room was so lovely, breakfast nourishing and the whole venue beautifully cared for. I'll be back. Thank you so much Jacqui.

The B&B is an older building, although the rooms have been beautifully updated. We stayed in the attic room. We spent part of the evening on the porch, which has a beautiful view, and perused the library. Our stay would have been pleasant already, but the breakfast put us over the top! There were several dishes, including local fruits and... More

This is a lovely old plantation home with a gorgeous veranda overlooking a luscious green garden and you can see the ocean. The location is extremely convenient as it's really close to the Waipio valley - ideal for 1/2 day (or longer) hikes. Jacqueline made a wonderful breakfast for us and after we checked out she even borrowed us her... More

Waipio Wayside B&B is absolutely charming. Jacqueline is the most gracious owner to share her accommodations. Our room was so beautiful and comfortable. I would have loved to have stayed longer but was on a bike tour. The breakfast was awesome with fresh Waimea strawberries. Thank you for awesome memories.

I was on a bike tour of Big Island for 6 days and this accommodation turned out to be an absolute highlight of my stay. Right from the moment you arrive, Jacqueline (the owner) extends hospitality that truly comes from the heart makes you feel right at home. The room was quiet and comfortable with sufficient amenities. The whole place... More

Quiet and peaceful with a warm, friendly and wise owner. Jacqueline Horn prepared delicious, healthy breakfasts for our 2 day stay. She revealed some secrets about Hawaii and places to go. She was simultaneously laid back and energetic. A rare combination. This B&B is one of the best places we have ever stayed. We recommend the Birds Eye Room.

We were disappointed with our experience here. We have stayed in many accommodations in Hawaii over our 30+ years of vacationing there. On this occasion, we had just come from a week at an upscale B&B near Kona where we had not paid too much more than this property but had a fabulous experience with views, pool, hot tub and... More

Dear Seattle guests, I am so sorry for your experience at Waipio Wayside. I am now a few days away from double knee replacement and have been trying my very best to coordinate my bed and breakfast, physical therapy and a high degree of pain. I believe most B&B owners like myself do not wish to burden guests with any... More

Very nice, laid back, homey vibe. Quiet and peaceful. Jacqueline, the congenial host was a font of information. Very good breakfast. Very nice common room, with loads of reading material, on the Islands, cooking and other interesting topics. Good location for exploring the north of the island.
