This is a beautiful property with wonderful views. I checked out all the cabins ( as they were empty) and all of them had excellent views. The caretakers were very helpful. It was obvious that some trees were sacrificed in order to get better views. When we went the orchard had little fruit ( our bad luck) . It was... More

We stayed here two nights. Considered getting married in Waipio but got married in Kona instead. Hale Kukui has beautiful views and waking up to the sound of the birds and sunrise every morning was an amazing experience. The room is simple but has everything you need to cook and enjoy the surroundings. Would love to come back here and... More

Look no further if you're considering a place to stay close to Waipio Valley. Words can't describe the views from this place. Paula was a great hostess and the rooms are VERY nice. I give Paula and Dan straight A's! Great place. Marty from Denver, CO

We stayed four nights at Hale Kakui and were so glad we did. The view is exactly as pictured only changing for the better depending on weather conditions. Our host, Paula welcomed us and helped us with any questions we had about the area and left us to browse and harvest in the orchard. The unit was spotless and well... More

My wife and I stayed here for two nights during the second week of our honeymoon. We had a wonderful stay in this very special and magical place. The cottage was incredibly comfortable and had everything we needed. The view was breathtaking at all times of day. Despite there being a number of cottages, we were amazed at the privacy... More

Simply the most magnificent views on the Island. All of the units are decorated quaintly and adequately stocked for simple cooking. The smell from the fruit orchard and flowering trees is heavenly. The care takers Paula and Dan are so knowledgeable and more then helpful from the booking process to key spots to go. I would highly recommend staying here.... More

This place has new owners, Paula the hostess told me they have had it for about a year. Which wil probably explain why my experience was so different from the bad ones aready listed. First thing you notice when you enter the cottage is the amazing view of the coast, it's absolutely breathtaking and the whole front of the cottage... More

The reviews have all been pretty accurate. This small property is ideal for exploring Waipio Valley and the Hamakua coast. All rooms have a balcony (some with soaking tub) looking out over the cliffs to the north of Waipio Valley- such a great view, and with the changing light & clouds, you never see it the same twice. Accommodations were... More

We stayed for 3 nights in this lovely cottage overlookong the cliffs of the Hamakua Coast on the Northeast side of the big island. We could not get enough of this spectacular view! It is next to the Waipio Valley, and sits above a beaufitul orchard with a variety of tropical fruit trees. One large room, open and airy, with... More

We stayed at hale kukui a few days back, Totally agree with everyone else's review....and to be honest were really just telling the same story - its all good. The view is unbelievable (unless of course you live on the coast near a huge valley with amazing views). The cottage is spacious and comfortable with a good kitchen (enough to... More
