We have stayed here several times over the last 20 years, starting with our honeymoon. It's basic, quaint, and homey. We've had the same comfortable room each time. The window outside our room has no glass--inside and outside blend together here. Some of the residents seem to be family and some boarders, with just occasional tourists. At under $50/night, you... Staci Is a wonderful host, and very helpful with the local info, Staci went out of her way to make us feel at home. The 1926 charm of the family owned hotel, made it so much more than anyone could ask for, its open and airy, and clean. Loved not having a TV, radio or a clock. Did not need... More

To be honest we did not stay here! We stopped in to take a look around. It is old, decrepit, and need of repair but a lot of homes look like this in the area. Oceanview rooms were 55 and mountainside 45 a night. It looked like the owners also live here. The highlight for me was the view fro the... More

This historic building has a lot of character. The view from the upper level is beautiful — you can see the ocean and the town below. I enjoyed the location as it's on a street with quite a few art galleries. Our room was basic, but the bed was comfortable and the shared washrooms are clean. Bernadette is welcoming and... More

Stayed here for two nights while getting settled into the Big Island. Family run and very friendly! The hotel is from the 30's, so don't go in expecting dazzling tile floors and beautiful drapes. If you are looking to save money, meet some wonderful people, and get a legitimate local experience, stay here! Try to do it Monday night as... More

Ok, this is a historic place, built in the 1929, owned by apparently the same japanese family since then (Inaba), and please note, I LOVE japanese people, but this place was, to say the least, a real disappointment. Ok, it is cheap, only 40$ per night/room (double or triple). OK, the true spirit of Aloha is all over the places... More
