We haven't stayed in many B&B's but we were impressed with Lon's exceptional place and agree with other reviewers who rate it highly. The rooms are incredibly spacious and well-appointed with high ceilings, jacuzzi and large bathroom, wonderful porch, comfortable king-size bed -- and fabulous views of the ocean, the best thing about the place! Lon is congenial and a... more

We found this B&B through the great reviews on this site. We stayed for 7 days and it more than lived up to our expectations. Our room was spacious, bright and beautiful - the king size bed was so very comfortable, the spa tub was delightful and the water pressure in the shower was perfect.. You would think that would... more

My wife and I stayed for seven nights at the Hale Hualalai and wish that we could have stayed even longer. A great deal has already been said about the owner Lonn, all we can say is that it is all true and he is the perfect host. You have never eaten such an amazing breakfast until you eat a... more

Our two night stay at Hale Hualalai - along with the sightseeing and local scene - was a major highlight of our three week trip to Hawaii. We have very fond memories of this brief stay and we have three pounds of the owner - Lonn Amour's - hand grown and processed Kona coffee - which we brought home to... more

Marianne & Greg say: This is the place, on the mountain, far from the madding crowd; roomy, cozy, private, quiet, well-appointed, superb breakfasts. We booked two nights. We wish we'd stayed for one or two more. Nice work, Lonn. Thanks. more

As we arrived we were heartly welcomed by the own Loon. Our room was great and we also had a whirlpool inside. The served breakfest with local fruits was just delicious. Loon is a really professional cook. more

The location is only about 7 miles from the Kailua-Kona airport. This was particularly handy as we arrived in the late evening. Despite its proximity to Kailua, this B&B is very quiet and located above the town. While we ate our breakfast each day, we enjoyed the morning views of the coastline. Lon is a wonderful, inventive chef and breakfasts... more

This is a special B&B. My wife and I have visited the Big Island before and stayed at a couple of B&B's. the Hale Hualalai by far beats them all. The room was more like a private apartment with everything you could want plus a great private porch with a view of the Ocean. Lonn is a great host and... more

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights to get off the beaten path of the hotel resorts. Lonn's B&B was a great find! The suite was spacious and very homey feeling and felt completely private, and the views were amazing from our private deck. And let me tell you, this guy can cook! Don't bother trying a B&B... more

We stayed at Lon's place for two of the seven nights we were on the Big Island. The good news is that this incredible place was the first place we stayed, and set the tone for the rest of our trip. The downside was that it was so good that the other places didn't quite live up to expectations. Lon... more
