We spent five nights there and it was perfect. Charlotte and John were so nice and interested in what we had done and were planning to do, it cheered us up (we were pretty gloomy after ten days of hard rain in Kaua'i and Kona). They know the place and have a lot of good advices to give. Breakfast is... More

We stayed a night here, it was a perfect location from which to explore the local waterfalls and not far from Hilo but in a nice quiet area. Both John & Charlotte were very welcoming and the breakfast was excellent our two boys loved the muffins! The room was plenty big enough for a family of four the only little... More

A lovely, b&b in a quiet neighborhood an easy drive to any place in Hilo. Charlotte and John were very welcoming and provided a lovely breakfast of muffins, fresh fruit, and cereal. And of course, Kona coffee. We would stay here again. More

We love Hilo and whenever we go we always stay (if they are not booked up) at this, our favorite B&B. We have traveled for the last 32 years all over the world and this is by far our favorite place to stay. This neighborhood above quaint and charming Hilo is quiet with lovely old custom homes, views of the... More

We rented both rooms so we had the whole common area to ourselves... lots of reading materials and maps of attractions around the area... several board games provided for guest use. The neighborhood is quiet and private. The place is clean and spacious. The owners are friendly and accommodating (We felt like family during our morning/afternoon conversations with them.). The location... More

We spent 5 days in the Big Island, and fortunately chose this B&B. Charlotte and John’s warm welcome began even while we were away, planning our trip. Their swift responses to all our questions and their willingness to help with finding accommodation to the only night they weren’t available were outstanding. Actually meeting them was a great bonus for us.... More

My husband and I stayed with Charlotte and John as part of our honeymoon trip. I didn't know what to expect, since it was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast. It ended up feeling like we were at home! In addition to our well-maintained and clean room, we had a front porch and a lovely "common" room... More

We spent two nights at Holmes Sweet Home B & B. Our daughter, her husband and baby accompanied us . From the time we stepped out of our car we felt welcomed by Charlotte and John. The large sitting area inside as well as the marvelous covered front porch were wonderful places to sit and visit, and a great place... More

We spend three fantastic days with Charlotte and John at their great B&B at Hilo. The whole stay was a real gem. It starts with our arrival at the afternoon of the first day - there was a sign out there with our names and where we were being welcomed. Then John and Charlotte welcomed us with such a warm... Bob and I are "frequent fliers" at Holmes Sweet Home B&B. Bob has been working in Hilo and the commute from the other side of the island where we live was too long to make every day. He started staying a few nights a week at Holmes Sweet Home, which he chose initially because of its convenient yet quiet location... More
