We stayed here during September of 2005 which is approaching the end of the B&B season in Hilo. The B&B was great, breakfast was as described by many others, great. The fruits growing in the back yard were fabulous, my 2 year old enjoyed seeing the bananas, pineapple, oranges and jack fruit. If you stay here, check out the path... More

We stayed here as part of our honeymoon. We did struggle to find it in the dark and the heavy rain, but we realised we should just have ignored the map and used the written directions. We stayed in the biggest room which is really well decorated. We had a sunken bath, separate shower, a large bed and a day... More

We have stayed at several B&B's on the Island as well as on the mainland. The Old Hawaiian is our favorite. We keep going back there--5 times in the past two years--because it is so peaceful and relaxing. The breakfasts are fabulous (fresh tropical fruit, smoothies and homemade pastries). They have an extensive variety of trees, flowers and fruits growing... More

My wife and I were quite happy with our stay at the Old Hawaiian B&B. We stayed in the Hawaiian room for two nights and woke every morning to a symphony of birds. Lots of bird activity going on in the morning! Lori was very nice and the breakfasts she made were awesome. Fresh fruit smoothies, hot banana bread and... More

Just returned from Hawaii and stayed 3 nights at this lovely B&B. My husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary by spending 2 weeks on the big island. We rented a car and drove around the entire island, spending several nights at different locations. This B&B is wonderful! It is exceptionally clean! We stayed in the largest room, "the... More

The Old Hawaiian Bed & Breakfast is a most restful and pleasant place to stay. My parents and I spent four days and nights (January 15-19) in the Hawaiian Room. I just cannot say enough good things about the Bed & Breakfast nor the super hosts, Lory and Stewart. The breakfasts, to put it mildly, were awesome. Lory is one... More

It was more like staying in a New England Inn then a B&B. We had our own outside entrance, our own bathroom and an excellent breakfast. Each morning brought fresh fruit and often times a fruit that was new and unusual, two selections of hot breads and wonderful coffee. Our hostess, Lory was very helpful with information of local activities... More

This is a really lovely B&B, and Lory and Stewart are top notch, gracious hosts. I was totally spoiled during my 8-day stay in the Sunrise room. All 3 guest units are nicely decorated and very clean. Lory is an exceptional cook, and the breakfasts are truly the best I've ever had (be prepared to gain a few pounds, 'cause... More

We stayed one night in the Hawaiian Room. The room was spacious and clean. The only negative thing I would say about this B & B is regarding their bath towels. We had three people staying in the room and we were only provided with 2 bath towels, 2 wash clothes and 1 hand towel. We usually recieve one full... More
