Stayed for just one night in June 2015, and this place completely exceeded our expectations. Beautiful and quiet location, lovely spacious room, amazing host and great breakfast. Room didn't have an air con but open windows and ceiling fan did the trick, we had a great nights' sleep. Bed is very comfortable. Gardens are spectacular with lots of exotic fruit... More

This charming home delivers perfection in accommodations, service and local flavor. Our bed was in the Goldilocks zone - just right. Slept like when we were kids. Ceiling fan kept us very comfortable, plenty of room and storage, lovely bath, decor was very appealing and not overdone or fussy. Our hostess pampered us with a royal spread at breakfast where... My husband & I stayed in the Hawaiian room April 19-23rd last month. It is spacious, quite room with a very comfortable bed & a large bathroom. We used the ceiling fan at night and were very comfortable. As others have noted, breakfast is delicious and Lory is such a gracious host.

I highly recommend this B&B, the host is wonderful, warm and inviting. I looked forward to breakfast every day...the food was great. The room was awesome, lots of room, very quiet and just comfortable to be in.

The Old Hawaiian B&B is a beautiful property in a wonderful location. Apart from the proximity to two natural attractions that are State Parks, the rear of the property extends to short walking trails along the river's bluff. It was also very convenient to both downtown Hilo (literally only a 10-minute drive) and roads out of town that avoided downtown... More

My husband and I enjoyed our 4 night stay in the Hawaiian room. The king bed is very comfortable. The room and bathroom are really large. Breakfast was great and we both looked forward to it every morning! Lory is a wonderful baker and bakes things such as muffins and scones that are to die for! The fresh fruit (a... More

Was a little reluctant to stay so far out of town but the advantage is that it's in a really lovely, quiet location with a big yard that backs onto the river. You wake up to the sound of all the birds singing their hearts out. Rooms are perhaps a bit on the basic side, but breakfasts are really nice.... More

We stayed three nights at the Old Hawaiian B&B located in Hilo and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is close to the town and to the lovely Rainbow Falls (well worth the visit). The house is set on a large property with all kinds of tropical fruits. Lory was away but we were more than adequately looked after by... More

We stayed just two nights at Lory's lovely bnb in a nice, quiet residential part of Hilo. By far the most memorable part of the stay was Lory's wonderful breakfasts - a superb range of fruits right from their garden, home baking, smoothies etc.beautifully prepared and presented on the spacious lanai. Our bed was quite comfortable, though the shower and... More

We stayed two nights in the Sunrise room which appeared more inviting in the website photos than it really was. It felt cramped and under decorated. As the photos show, the sink is w/in the room. The toilet/shower combination is in a cubical with 3/4 high walls. Room service does not include making the bed. There is no TV. The... More
