This hotel is clean, quite, reasonably priced. Overall, the hotel is no good, no bad, very suitable for one day or two days living. The big island tourist sites are mostly located in Kona and there is few activities done in Hilo side. We may live in this hotel again if we choose Hilo side, and the hotel is good... More

This hotel was plenty nice! The view is great, especially if you wake up early to see the sunrise hitting the top of Mauna Kea. If you're not looking for anything fancy and just somewhere nice and clean to stay, then this place will meet your needs!

GOOD: - Refurbishment has helped with the appeal of this hotel - Pretty location NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: - Front desk staff need to be more attentive - Restaurant food was below average (however waitstaff were friendly) COMMENTS: The hotel is set amongst a quite, pretty location, with large banyan trees and a very scenic bay and bridge to Coconut Island. The... More

Stayed here for a few nights with my family, including my mother who uses a cane. We were assigned a spacious air-conditioned room on the first floor with a large bathroom that is accomodating for disabled persons. They also were able to provide an adjoining room to ours where the rest of the family stayed. Though it was quite a... More

The hotel has large, clean, well appointed rooms with either garden or bay views. We picked the bay view and slept with the lanai door open to hear the ocean. The staff are friendly and proactive in helping. It is situated just outside the old town area, so it does not have as much traffic, but it is also situated... More

We stayed at the Hilo Hawaiian twice in 3 months. I would definitely stay here every time we travel to Hilo for overnight stays. Both trips the staff was courteous and quick. Our rooms were large and spacious, beds are comfortable. I've stayed at every hotel in Hilo and this is my favorite.

There are not many hotels in Hilo but I seriously think that this is the best one.. However, that's not saying much though. The hotel is very mediocre in all aspects. The room was spacious but outdated as was the whole hotel. I guess some parts had been updated at some point but it was a little hard to tell... More

The room was ok. Two double beds with balcony. The front desk lady was wierd. I had a booking for a Standard room on one day and Superior room on another day. When I asked her the difference she said the only difference was that the superior room was on a higher level. When I asked her about the view,... More

Spent almost two weeks here. The hotel is close to town...walkable to shops. A beautiful garden runs along side. The bay front and view are spectacular. This is laid back but very nice. Nicest hotel in Hilo.
