Many a fond Memory of the hotel from the 1970's. Neither the hotel or Hilo Town has changed much since then, which is a good thing in my opinion/ The hotel was recently renovated so the rooms were nice and clean. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The only exception being the travel desk staff that tended to be... More

First time to Hilo. The hotel is a decent deal for value. It is renovated, but I'm a bit picky when it comes to cleanliness so I thought for sure my room could have been cleaner. We didn't have the friendliest greeting while checking in which was a bit disappointing. No free wi-fi in rooms, only in lobby, but free... More

The hotel was pretty nice. The rooms were very obviously renovated, but a good job done on the renovation. The room was large and comfortable. Was disappointed by the lack of good info from the front desk on places to go to eat. Understanding now the limitations of restaurants in Hilo it's not so surprising. I thought the Sunday brunch... I love this Hilo area hotel. It is right on the most beautiful bay on this Big Island. We have stayed here a few times before and was very please with the new room renovations. Everything was redone and very nicely. We usually book a banyan or garden view but as we were staying 3 nights I booked the full... More

There is little choice in Hilo for a good hotel. This hotel is located near the airport and 5 minutes by car from downtown. We arrived at the hotel at 2:20 pm to be told by the receptionist that the assigned room is not ready and that check in is after 3:00 pm. She did not want to check if... More

A little concerned about the pricing when making this reservation but bumped up to a bay side room. This was a good decision because the view of coconut island and Hilo bay and nightime lights is worth the extra tariff.Of course this is an older property so dont expect all the modern convienieces. Staff was very friendly and helpful. This was... More

There wasn't much accommodation options to pick from in Hilo, as a result i chose the Castle Hilo Hawaiian, which was nice but a wee bit more than i wanted to pay for 2 nights. Never the less it was a nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. I had a room on the non ocean side, which was fine.... More

I use to stay here year after year. same room almost every time. The last year they raised their rates and it was not worth the price to me anymore. From what I understand they put in new bed spreads and curtains! Really for a $50 raise a night? The views are fantastic (on the Bay side). The room was... More

This hotel has been recently redone. Our room was like new. We had an oceanfront view which I would highly recommend. We were on the 7th floor #720. That is toward the middle top and an excellent location. Even numbers are on the ocean. From the carpeted, covered, private balcony, can see the Hilo Bay, Hilo, Mauna Kea, Coconut Island... More

If you happen to be in Hilo, this is a nice hotel to stay at. The open air lobby is awesome, and the view is nice as well. You do not have a ton of options in Hilo, and this is a good choice. Nice rooms, nice restaurant and bar and friendly staff.
