Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a longer Hawaii trip. This rustic & local B&B was quite different to other Hawaii accommodation but very fitting with the Hilo atmosphere. The location was very convenient for the airport and the main highway to explore the east coast. (TIP: you really really do need to rent a car on big... More

My husband and I stayed one night here and wish that we had stayed longer! The room was clean and the communal kitchen had everything we needed to make our own dinner for the night. We actually woke up before dawn to walk over to the nearby Onekahakaha Beach Park (<10 minutes away) and for a great sunrise. Penne made... More

We recently spent two nights here and wish it could have been more. This place is absolutely wonderful. We had an early arrival in Hilo and had called Penne the week before our stay to ask if we could drop off our bags before heading out for the day - of course! We showed up and felt immediately at home.... More

Clean, comfortable, close to a wonderful beach, and quiet. Perfect so far! Then add in a wonderful hostess, a great breakfast, and proximity to town, restaurants, shopping. What more could you want? We only spent one night here, but my husband and I are planning to come back and spend a week... we love the Hilo side of the island.... More

Inexpensive, clean, comfortable, great breakfast, close to great beaches and restaurants. What more could you want? We only spent one night, but wished we had planned to stay longer. The owner is very friendly and provides excellent recommendations for nearby restaraunts, sights, and activities. She was also very accommodating and allowed us to drop off luggage early so we had... We stayed for 3 nights but I would have been happier to stay 3 weeks! Alan & Penne are lovely people who do their best to make sure their guests are comfortable & well fed. The island breakfasts are delicious & include fresh squeezed juice from their trees when available. It was so very nice to go to sleep to... More

We drove to Aaron's cottage and didn't know what and where we were headed to along the small road leading to the place. A nice surprise and I fell in love with the place. The owner Alan is a friendly family man with 3 dogs - 2 boisterous dalmatians Max and Missy who came out to greet us. Pantry was... More

Aaron's Cottage is a nice place to stay in Hilo that feels like it is off the beaten track. Stayed here with my husband for 2 nights, wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely be back next time we are in Hilo! It has a very down-home feeling, which we enjoyed, especially the delicious and generous breakfasts,... More

This is a nice place to stay while in Hilo. While this is an older property and not a luxury hotel, it is very comfortable, clean, safe, quiet, in a residential neighborhood, but still near to airport. There are only 3 units which share a community kitchen that has a stove and microwave, so you can cook your own meals... More

Our party of 5 stayed at Aaron's Cottage shortly after Tropical Storm Iselle hit the east side of The Big Island . Although 4 of us are actually Hilo natives visiting from the mainland for a family reunion , we could not have been made to feel more at home by Alan and Penne ! Warm and friendly hosts w/out...
