Driving to this place it's like entering whole other world. It is just magical, the birds and frogs singing... I had hard time leaving. I would recommend first time getting to this hotel while it's still light outside, the small one way road can be very unfamiliar and a bit challenging. It is very romantic place to visit with your... The Inn at Kulaniapia Falls is truly a treasure. Nestled in a macadamia tree plantation where it was gently carved out of its tropical beginnings, it is a place of inspirational beauty. With its changing waterfall, pond and river backdrop, it holds the most interesting botanical flora and birdlife. We were even able to enjoy a small kayak on the... More

we really enjoyed our stay at the Kulanapia. The Waterfalls and the beautiful gardens made our step a unique experience. The room was clean and beautiful furnished, the staff very nice and helpful and the breakfast just Perfect.

This was an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The evening sitting on the deck overlooking the waterfall, enjoying a beverage was an amazing way to wrap up our day. The yummy breakfast in the morning...the walk on the trails and through the grounds was stunning. The swim in the beautiful pond beneath the waterfall was absolutely incredible. Everything about this... More

The Waterfall makes this B&B unique. The main attraction of the Hilo side of the Big Island is the waterfalls, and this one is beautiful. There are also several smaller waterfalls downstream on the property, which has a cleared path along the river and through bamboo gardens. You can swim, kayak, paddle board, or float in the pool at the... More

What a treat! Glad we chose to stay 3 nights as one night would surely not have been enough. Its a wonderful change of pace vs. the busy, touristy Kona side and it was a good home base for days when we wanted to explore the Volcano and Hilo side of the island. The private waterfall was the main reason... More

After spending many days on the beach at a great resort in Kona, this wonderful site was a breath of fresh air, literally. Swimming or paddling at the base of the fall is quite exciting. The sound of the fall omnipresent, the well cared for bamboo garden are quite relaxing. Really enjoyed the stay before flying home.

Everything one would want in a perfect B & B: Caring and unobtrusive help, magical setting, and lovely hosts. Just make sure you get to breakfast early. Hilo is close yet many worlds away. Bring supper with you and your favorite wine and skip going into town the first night. But for those who can not plan ahead: There IS... More

The property is a dream of Hawaii come true, starting with the short drive from Hilo through macadamia orchards on paved road. The Inn has three asian style buildings, lovely, but the real prize is down the trail to the waterfall and pond, a private paradise. We had it to ourselves and swam in the cool water. The Inn is... After managing a complicated route on our GPS, we traveled several miles through macadamian nut orchards to come across this isolated inn, by the river next to a significant waterfall. Everything about this inn was wonderful. The rooms are not big, but one can have a lanai and there is a sitting room and dining room. The interior design is... More
