The facilities aren't that great. Actually holding my ratings down. If they had a decent facility, it would have been a 5 star rating. If they had less than stellar staff, it would have been a 1 star. Having said that, the staff was amazing. We were a last minute walk in booking looking for a cheap place to stay... More

If you like to talk to exchange stories and get ideas from fellow travelers, you will like this friendly hostel. I traveled with my boyfriend and another friend in October 2014. At breakfast we met the other guests and swapped ideas of where to visit that day.

Basic accomodation, but beautiful grounds and friendly staff. Almost like a little oasis. Lots of bird/nature sounds at night (which I enjoyed). Handy communal kitchen and TV area. Quick drive into town, convenient parking. Would have liked to stay longer.

Definitely a nice place. Oh yeah the rooms are not fancy and the beds are not the best you could get, but it is a great value for money! You feel cosy in this place it has it charm and it feels homely. The staff were very friendly and there was a good vibe, something that we didn't find and... More

My boyfriend and I chose to stay here for the first night of our Hawaii vacation. We chose it for its short distance from the airport and for its very affordable price. When we arrived, I have to admit that I was a little disappointed. It was dark, so nothing seemed charming. Everything just seemed old and bare. There was... More

Initially i told them i will be arriving late, they were so accommodating and told me that they will be open. But fortunately i arrived early. After i reached there they were so friendly and felt like home. Breakfast is good. After... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and had a great time. The staff were very friendly. As we arrived with no knowledge or plans the manager sat down with us and gave us a rundown of all the good things to do. We did some great stuff like see volcano valley, some terrific waterfalls and star gazing on manua kea(... More

I stayed at the wild ginger inn for about five nights in their camping area and my opinion of the place fell quickly. The place is run by a family of at least 6 or 7 related people who seemed friendly at first but suddenly they became easily annoyed with me: one night I returned to the hotel after 8... More

We had a reservation for 2 nights, but left after the first night. We stayed 3 other places around the island for about the same price. All 3 other places (hotels and a hostel) were very nice, clean and comfortable! The Wild Ginger Inn was NOT. The worst part was the termites. Lights all around the hotel need to be... More
