Would highly recommend this hotel. We spent a couple of days at honolulu before heading to the big island to experience real hawaii. You could see the difference from the moment we landed. My wife asked a local lady for directions to the cab rank and she ended up giving us a lift to the hotel. Everyone we met was... More

This family owned hotel welcomes guests with a very old-fashioned, warm Hawaiian charm. The rooms are clean and comfortable and very affordable. The lobby and entry corridor are decorated with Hawaiian quilts and other Hawaiian artifacts. The restaurant serves a very good breakfast (the only meal we took there).

We had a nice pond/bay view room, we thought the hotel was quaint, and that it reminded us of what old Hawaii would have been like. It was clean, and the staff was very pleasant. A very good breakfast was included, the coffee was the best, and restaurant staff was very pleasant too. Even though it is close to the... More

We stayed at the Hilo Seaside Hotel for one night only after touring the volcano national park. Most of our stay was on the Kailua-Kona side but wanted to extend our time in Hilo to see the park fully, visit the botanical gardens, see the orchid farm, Waipo valley lookout, Akaka Falls, etc.... It was a busy few days for... More

After graduating from college on Oahu I decided to take a quick trip to visit the Big Island and snagged a vacation package that included two nights at the Hilo Seaside and airfare for around $300. For that price the hotel was definitely worth it. I got a free upgrade to an ocean view room (more of a Hilo Bay... More

We only stayed in Hilo one night and got this hotel last minute online. Its an older hotel but quite clean. The rooms are basic, in room mini fridge, window mount a/c, and ceiling fan. Comfortable but not luxurious.

We had a nice room, very clean, but very basic. The only bad thing about the place is the planes that fly over -- VERY loud. The good news is there is very few flights into Hilo -- like 5 all morning. The pool is nice, but not heated. Bathrooms are very basic old style, but clean. Paid about $90/night.

After 2 wonderful nights at the Marriott in Waikoloa I guess I was a bit spoilt so it was off to Hilo for the final 2 nights on Big Island before heading over to Maui. Checkin was fast & efficient . I was given my breakfast coupons for the cafe in the same building for the 2 days. Room was... More

Room is small but clean. Good for the price. Beds are too soft. Close to the beach

After plans to stay with friends in Hilo fell through, and after staying in the Kona Seaside after we first arrived on the Big Island, it was a no-brainer for us to book into the Hilo Seaside for a few nights while exploring the eastern side of the Big Island. We were in a deluxe room, which was a bit... More
