My two friends and I stayed at the Hilo Seaside for two nights and had the best stay in the Hawaiian Islands. We had a garden view room with two double beds and found the room and bathroom to be clean, quiet, and tasteful. The staff were very friendly and courteous, and never hesitated to recommend various sights and places... more

Price was right for me since I stayed with my young children for a week. Ground floor room, awesome, right next to the pool, great, but I had to carry my sons stroller up and down stairs just to get to my ground floor room. With luggage, a stroller with an infant and a young child it was very frustrating.... more

This hotel is one of the worst I have ever encountered in Hawaii. The rooms are extremely noisy. Apparently no sound proofing between rooms and people come and go at all hours. I heard roller bags bouncing down the steps at 4 am., just after I was awakened by someone trying to break into our room!! The rooms have a... more

We stayed here for two nights basically so we could go on the volcano tour. Hilo itself is a sleepy little town with not a great deal to do, but is ok nonetheless. The only problem is the lack of soundproofing. We got a rude call from the reception at 10pm to turn our tv down, which was barely audible.... more

I went to the big Island on a business trip and my company's travel agency booked me into the Hilo Seaside. I'm not too picky or anything but this was definitely below standard. Looked like some hotel in a Coen brothers movie. The last time it had a paint job was a long time ago. All of this would have... more

My review title says it all. Would not have stayed there if I knew what it would be like. The room smelled; we had to change rooms as the first was disgusting. more

The hotel has a nice lagoon front location and is off of the main road while still being close to the airport. We had a nice dinner at the hotel grill for a reasonable price. The room was clean but was space and very outdated. The only problem at this hotel is the parking! Be prepared to park on the... more

The hotel staff were very friendly. I didn't see any elevators, we walked up to the 3rd floor, I think there's only 3 floors. The "Superior" room that we got from the website for our special internet rate of $79/night was pitifully small. See my pictures. It looks like an old apartment building. The inside was clean but sooo old!... more

The Hilo Seaside is in desperate need of a facelift, but if you're into the "retro Hawaii" thing, this is it! Be sure to ask for a deluxe room/ocean view - with a balcony. You really won't get that much of an ocean view, but as long as you're overlooking the huge koi pond, it'll be ok. I rate this... more

We had very good service here....they allowed us early check-in at 1pm, got a very quiet room away from traffic and the hotel pool area, provided us with extra towels for the use at the pool, they found a corkscrew for us to open our bottle of wine. The room itself was small but adequate. It was close to a... more
