I read a review in my big island guide recommending this hotel if your on a tight budget. My family has a condo in Waikoloa where I had been staying for a few weeks, but me and my boyfriend decided to do a drive around the island and stay in Hilo for one night. Although the hotel was clean, and... more

I cannot believe AAA actually backs this place. And has the nerve to say it's the #3 site out of 8 in the area. Incredible! 1. There is only one entrance, no way to bring luggage in through a door nearer the assigned room. 2. The place caters to tour buses. If you're not a part of a "Roberts Hawaii"... more

Booked this based on reviews on tripadvisor. It leaves much to be desired. When we arrived, there was nowhere to park. At all. We went inside and were given a map and told to park wherever we could find a space. We circled several times and waited for someone to exit. The rooms were reasonably clean, but very very dated.... more

What struck me first was the lagoon across the road and the locals taking a dip. Then it rained but that didn't dampen the welcome from a Hawaiian run hotel. Staff, for the most part were helpful, if occasionally seemingly a bit stressed. But that's all part and parcel of a family run hotel, I guess. Room was small but... more

staff were friendly, when the bathroom light stopped working late at night, they blocked out an adjacent room so we could use the bathroom. the rooms look quite dated, but the beds, carpet and bathrooms felt well looked after. given that we didn't spend much time at the hotel since we were out for most of the day, this was... more

We stayed 2 nights and that was 2 to many. Yes its an older motel with the Hawaiian atmosphere but the room stunk. So as we opened the door the smell was just old, musty and "needed a good cleaning" smell. The beds were very hard. All the staff that we encountered were very nice and friendly. As for peace... more

Yes, the front desk staff is friendly. Yes, the rooms are pretty beat up, the toilets are slow, the drains are slow, the carpet is stained, but the bed was comfy. We only needed to stay one night. It didn't revolt us. It wasn't great, either, but it was fine for a night. more

We stayed at this hotel for just one night. We thought we had got a very good deal through priceline and this hotel was very close to the Hilo airport too. But the quality of the room for the price we paid didn't meet the least of our expectations. The shower didn't work at all. The carpet near the toilet... more

My first time in the Big Island for a Church Occassion just for a couple of nites. Front desk agent was so indredible. We felt the Aloha Spirit the moment we arrive. Rooms are big and roomy. Close to shopping and Downtown Hilo. I like it very much. more
