Four of us stayed at the Hilo Seaside for 4 nights and enjoyed it. Its a bit old ca.1970's but in decent shape. Its walking distance to some neat attractions like Banyan Way and many waterfront parks. Its close to the airport and only a 7 minute drive to Old Hilo town. Excellent breakfast every morning and the girls are... More

Beautiful little hotel in Hilo, quaint and charming and easy on the wallet. Small but comfortable rooms. Only downside, rooms 1 to 10 back onto a busy road, would have been much better if we were in a different area. Good breakfast as well. Highly recommend as an amazing base for visiting volcano's and the windward side of big island.

The Hilo Seaside Hotel is an older hotel located conveniently close to the Hilo Airport with a nice view of Hilo Bay. The hotel is not modern by any means, but that gives it some of its charm. It is clean and tidy, the staff are friendly, and the price is right. The lobby is clean, open and airy and... More

Hurricane Iselle caused power loss at my HI home, so I spent a couple nights at this perfectly serviceable hotel in Hilo. I read the reviews of it and several others. I chose this one for the value and location. It's on the bay in Liliiukolani Park, a placid, beautifully designed garden near downtown Hilo. The hotel was old, but... More

We chose it for our last night as we were leaving from Hilo Airport: it has good prices and it is ok, very clean and has good staff (front desk: all of them friendly and helpful). The problem is that it does not have enough personality and it is a little bit run-down. If I had had time I would... More

stayed here in june for 3 nights and was really happy with our stay. Our room faced the ocean and it was lovely watching families enjoying the water. The hotel was close to a few other restaurants and near to parks and Banyan drive which was beautiful to see with all the trees and the parks. Great prices for a... More

This a charming older style hotel/motel with a great location and a wonderful staff. We stayed two nights and with a sea view upper level room enjoyed the baconey a great deal. A fresh water pond filled with Koi and open air lobby added to the Hawaii feel. I would go back anytime.

Was not expecting much of this hotel b/c of the reasonable price, but what a pleasant surprise. Right at check in there was a problem having nothing to do w/ the hotel. The front desk staff was so helpful in resolving it especially Karlene [hope I have that right] They honored a request for a room with a view which... More

We were only in Hilo for one night, so this place suited our needs perfectly. The rooms are clean and quiet and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. * Not all the rooms have a view - it wasn't a problem for us, but if that is a dealbreaker, make sure you confirm when you book.

The staff are always friendly. They remember their repeat customers by name and are always cheerful and happy to answer questions. Hotel has made quite a number of improvements over the years and we're always happy to stay there.
