Booked this based on reviews on tripadvisor. It leaves much to be desired. When we arrived, there was nowhere to park. At all. We stayed 2 nights and that was 2 to many. Yes its an older motel with the Hawaiian atmosphere but the room stunk. So as we opened the door the smell was just old, musty and "needed a good cleaning" smell. The beds were very hard. All the staff that we encountered were very nice and friendly. Yes, the front desk staff is friendly. Yes, the rooms are pretty beat up, the toilets are slow, the drains are slow, the carpet is stained, but the bed was comfy. We only needed to stay one night. It didn't revolt us. It wasn't great, either, but it was fine for a night. more

My first time in the Big Island for a Church Occassion just for a couple of nites. Front desk agent was so indredible. We felt the Aloha Spirit the moment we arrive. Rooms are big and roomy. Close to shopping and Downtown Hilo. I like it very much. more
