Hotel is located on the beautiful Hilo bay. Unfortunately the hotel is not completely renovated but I did not hear any construction going on during my short stay. The rooms remind me of a college dorm and it's interesting they chose to forgo carpets in the halls and in the room. The rooms therefore echo while talking and watching tv.... More

Got a room facing the bay, great views.(It was a $10 upgrade, well worth it) Staff were very friendly. The hotel is currently undergoing a huge renovation, so some amenities were not available. (i.e. wifi only available in lobby) Room was comfortable with a mini fridge in it. It wasn't anything fancy.

Average rating because hotel is under construction and hallways are LOUD. Was awakened 2x at 0400 during stay. Not. Good thing. They need to offer some kind of complimentary breakfast also. They did put out one pot of coffee in the am so if you got there at the right time you could get a cup but otherwise amenities are... More

I recently stayed at the Hilo Naniloa Hotel during my recent business trip (with co-workers) to Hilo. My Scenic Ocean View room offered a spectacular view of Hilo Bay and the Hamakua Coast. The front desk was warm and inviting. The General Manager, Terry also greeted us at check-in. What a nice welcome. The Hilo Naniloa Hotel offers great value... More

Hotel is undergoing renovations and from the looks of it, january 2016 it's going to be beautiful. It was nice, but very basic. They didn't have complementary conditioner (only shampoo) or a microwave, or room service available. We were on our honeymoon and were supposed to have a king size bed but we had two full size beds. There are... More

We enjoyed our stay--room 531 and 331! My son and I liked this side of the hotel as we could see the water. The sheets were very nice and the bed was comfortable. The fridge in the room came in handy. We were very thankful that Nicole got us in on a Saturday night…the last hotel room in Hilo after... More

A different opinion than most recent reviewers as we found the Naniloa to be more than satisfactory given the price and location. This is Hilo, people, not Waikiki. Hotels here are limited and none I've seen would be called luxurious. Yes, there is much renovation going on. The lobby is tiny, elevators slow and there are no restaurants at this... More

Hotel is under construction. Pool is horrible. No amenities on property. Tile everywhere, making it loud. The elevators are slow, and filled half the time with staff going from floor to floor. Staff was OK, had one staff at front desk who didnt seem to like her job, everyone else was OK. Not what I've experienced on other islands and... More

Horrible. Absolutely horrible. The room was white tile, white sheet, white walls. No phone in the room. No wifi, no curtains, or window covering. No blankets, and my room was 50 degrees when I walked in. Actual reading. The shower temp wouldn't get above warm. The walls were paper thin, and I heard the very noisy people a few doors... More

You could tell this place was once a groovy, & posh resort for the rich by its 1960s iconic architecture on 72 acres of surrounding golf club. Beautifully located on the ocean front in the tiny town of Hilo, this hotel is now under extensive $16 million renovation by Hilton and will be reopened as DoubeTree on the first of... More
