1st time to the islands and we picked a place of Expedia to stay. Not sure of what we were getting but it was only for 1 night. It's under renovation but staff was helpful and courteous. Rooms were clean and bright.Area around hotel was nostalgicwork huge trees and beautiful views. We watched turtles along shoreline which excited the kids.... More

Booked a room on our way to Hilo from Kona and I was able to get a great rate for a double bedroom. They are in the process of renovating the hotel and it has potential to be a beautiful and pricey hotel right by the beach. It is walking distance to Lili'uokalani Botanical Garden. It felt very serene walking... More

We stayed here the first night of a weeklong trip to the Big Island. It was nice to be close to the airport and the views from the hotel were great. It is under renovation, as previously noted, but our stay was positive.

Stay away from this horrible place! Not only was our room shabby and grimy, it also lacked a phone. We had to use our own cell phone to reach the front desk. And, boy, did we dread dealing with the front desk! The desk clerk and her supervisor were slow and unhelpful to the point of being insolent. The sad... More

Aloha, We apologize for your experience and are providing the best rate value in an effort to offset the limited services. Our extensive renovations to the property just starting up will restore full services, amenities and facilities to the property and will be flagged a Doubletree by Hilton by Spring of next year and hope you will check us out... I knew that the Hilo Naniloa was undergoing renovations, so it wasn't a surprise to see the lobby of the hotel blocked off under construction. For the convenient location & price, this is a good value, especially for a local resident from Oahu that doesn't expect to spend lots of time in the hotel. The room is white & plain,... More

This is one of the cheaper hotel on the Hilo side that has great location. I've chose this hotel due to its location to the volcano as we were doing a day trip the next morning. It was just for one night before we were going to Hilton Waikoloa the remainder stay of our vacation. I've read lots of review,... More

Yes the hotel is older than most & yes it is in the middle of being renovated. But don't let that put you off staying here. It is well located with ocean views & close to restaurants & things to do. Our room was old but clean & comfortable. I found the staff very friendly & Helpful. My biggest complaint... More

The place is under renovation. But that is no excuse, They don't tell you the condition when you check in. They can't clean the rooms. They said they clean for new check-ins first. I got back at 6 pm and no one even touched the room. All that is in my room is a bed, tv and desk chair. This... More

Aloha, We apologize for missing the servicing of your room and although no excuse had a same day large group of military that arrived and caused housekeeping challenges to prep their rooms. Our rooms renovation commences later this month and will include nice improvements along with the entire property. By year end, we will be branded a Doubletree by Hilton... More

Aloha, Am guessing you were travelling with the person who made the other entry at same time from same destination and apologize for the lack of housekeeping service that day as this is not typically a shortfall. We hope you can re-visit once renovations are completed that will bring the resort back to full service, with restaurant, lounges, showroom, fitness... More
