We had a wonderful stay at the Edge of the World in Captain Cook, HI. It was a private, peaceful location and the hostesses were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were homemade and made with fresh fruit and ingredients right from the farm. The Crow's Nest room was clean and had plenty of space for the two of us. We did... more

We spent 4 nights in March at this B & B. We had the Pacific Room. It was spacious and clean with a huge bathroom and changing area attached. The mattress was firm and comfortable. We had a TV with cable. Kurt, our host, offered us the use of his movie collection (though I would go to sleep early exhausted by... more

I stayed for a week at the Edge in early May, 2008. It was fantastic. Great rooms, super breakfasts, very near lots of neat stuff to do--like the best snorkeling in Hawaii, ocean kayaking across Kealakekua Bay, hikes, the Place of Refuge. The hosts, Kanae and Kurt were very friendly and very helpful. They made me feel right at home.... more

Edge of the World is located high above Kealakekua Bay. Gorgeous view. Our room was the Pacific room. Very spacious - wonderfully comfortable bed. Breakfast on the deck was very nice - much of the food was grown on the grounds which are a working coffee and macadamia nut plantation worked by the owner. Location is close to kayaking to... more

Five of us stayed at the Edge for 4 nights, from November 9th to the 13th and we booked up all the rooms - Crow's Nest, Pacific Room and Nut Room. Previous reviewers have commented on the beautiful views (all true), but what did not come across in those reviews was that inside the rooms (especially Crow's Nest and Pacific)... more

Wonderful informative tips for the newcomer and return visitors. The view out of the Crow's Nest is suberb and the fresh papaya, french toast and organic home grown Kona Coffee is worth the trip in it... more

Truly the view from this BnB was good and the location in the Captain Cook area of the Big Island makes for great snorkling trips, etc. However, the breakfast was always some version of an egg with oily chedder and the bed in the Crow's Nest left us feeling the need for a chiropractor. Also, the screaming baby every morning... more

We stayed here for 4 nights in the "Nut Room". It was comfortable and clean with beautiful koa wood accents and flooring. We had access to a wonderful lanai with a great ocean view and comfortable outdoor furniture. This is a farm and you will see and sample the coffee and macadamia nuts grown there. The hosts are good-hearted, friendly,... more

This was our third trip to the Captain Cook area, our favorite part of Hawaii, but our first to this B&B. Kurt and his wife Kana are unusually welcoming and hospitable hosts, while giving people all the space they want. Kurt seems to really enjoy trying to meet his guests' individual needs. The house itself is large, modern, and pleasant,... more
