We booked a room 3 months in advance. About 4 weeks before arrival the owner cancelled our reservation because he wanted to sell the room to somebody else. We had to look for another place on our own and had to pay 50 % more! The owner did not care at all and ignored our e-mails. If you do not... more

We stayed with Kurt and Kana (and Jenna) at the Edge of the World B & B for four beautiful days this month, and hated to leave their warm and welcoming bit of paradise on earth. Each morning brought a beautifully presented and delicious breakfast, always with fruits freshly picked from their garden and home-grown coffee; each day brought an... more

Edge of the World was amazing. We were served fresh fruit, grown on the property, every morning. The room was comfortable and spacious. The hosts were friendly and sincere. The VIEW was AMAZING! Nestled on a mountainside, one can see the Pacific down below--looking over acres of starfruit, noni, and mango trees. Kurt took his time to give us a... more

this fantastic place offers both world class views as well as very experienced, knowledgeable and exceedingly friendly people. It is very quiet and perfect for honeymoon (from own experience) and any kind of travel. The positioning within Hawaii island is perfectly suited for a wide range of activities within reasonable reach. Service is very unintrusive - the place is flawlessly... more

This bed & breakfast is located about 35 min from Kailua Kona on the wooded slopes overlooking Kealakekua Bay. Kurt and his family generously and genuinely welcome you into their home. The atmosphere is very informal and convivial. I stayed in 3 of the rooms for a total of over 3 weeks. One of the room (The Crow's Nest) has... more

The Edge has been definitely one of the most agreable stay during our trip on the Hawaiin Islands, especially the perfect breakfast, the view from the lanai with wonderful sunsets and the nice conversations filled with a lot of hints where to go snorkelling or traveling around. The rooms are very lovely designed, there is a fridge for your personal... more

This B&B has it all - large comfortable rooms, excellent breakfasts, and a fantastic view from the lanai. We enjoyed picking up take-out dinners and eating on our private lanai while watching the sunsets. Our welcoming host and hostess were able to provide us with tips on where to sight see and snorkel which was very helpful. I heartily recommend... more

We had a remarkable stay at this peaceful place, filled with gentle sounds of nature and the countryside, and with a harmonious family as our hosts and guides to the island. The Edge makes a perfect base for exploring the Big Island, although you might feel the urge to stay on your lanai all day. Thank you Kurt, Kana, and... more

The view will keep you on the lania for hours. You are at treetop level watching the birds and absorbing the beauty of the bay while you enjoy a fantastic breakfast. Each morning we planned an early start -- never happened! The conversations with the other guests and our hosts made the time fly. You are offered a choice of... more

We had a wonderful stay at the Edge of the World in Captain Cook, HI. It was a private, peaceful location and the hostesses were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were homemade and made with fresh fruit and ingredients right from the farm. The Crow's Nest room was clean and had plenty of space for the two of us. We did... more
