You can hear her siren song. A cool babbling creek called Wolf, the slam of a wranglers screen door and the ring of her boots on a wooden porch, warm breezes in the pines, bacon and coffee while the bluebirds sing in the mountain morning, the swish of a paint horse's tail, a faint whif of coal smoke, the ringing... We stayed for 4 nights and after just one ride with a hand, they let us go on our own. Pretty cool. We were just 2 people so they sat us with a few others at meals. This was great and we made fast friends from all over the states. I did get up early a couple of mornings to... More

For my second trip to Eaton's Ranch, it is still an awesome, unique, wonderful place to horseback ride. My first trip was in hot July, in the height of the season. This trip was at the quiet end of the shoulder season. The weather was variable from 80-90 degrees to cool, 50 degree days. The views from the Big Horn... More

I spent several days at Eatons' in late September 2014. This was "shoulder season," when the overall number of guests is lower and the children are back in school. Having the privilege of riding horseback in solitude (or in company, or with a wrangler, if one chooses) in that huge, magnificent landscape is simply wonderful. Pleasant, plain accommodations, good food... More

Eaton's is one of the, if not THE oldest dude ranches in the country. I had heard of it for years. I had occasion to stay there late August-early Sept. If you want to ride horses, and be treated exceptionally well by working wranglers, this is for you. It is NOT a luxury accommodation, but more than adequate to experience... More

After spending a few days in Sheridan, Wy at a wedding, our family, ages 64-4 years old spent 3 nights at Eaton's Ranch. I think it was a "best vacation" ever by all of us. Relaxing whether you like to ride horses or not. My father went there in the 1930s so we wanted to see what it was all... More

Where do I start. Took my 13 year old daughter here for a get away. We had the time of our lives! The staff was incredible! They all made us feel like we have known them our whole lives! The food was amazing and produce very fresh! The horses were picked perfectly for our riding experience levels! The area with... More

My husband and I were looking for a unique getaway without the kids. We found it with Eatons' Ranch. Nothing fancy, but a great time. Here, it's all about the riding. We're both beginning riders, so it was nice to be able to get a wrangler to ourselves for every ride. We had a terrific time and met a lot... More

I heard about the ranch from a family friend who has been going since birth, and their great grandfather since early 1900. My wife and I went on our honey moon in1993 and we have been back 2012, 2013 and I am going x2 in 2014. simply the best.

This was my third visit to Eaton's Ranch. Each time I have stayed in a different cabin and all three were very different but each very comfy. The oldest dude ranch in the country (maybe the world?) offers a unique riding experience. You can ride with a wrangler or choose to ride out on your own. The Big Horn Mountain... More
