Booked the executive suite for two nights for $125.00 a night. Check in was smooth with no issues. Already knew about the steep and narrow stairs leading up to the 3rd floor. Room was large and clean and in good condition. Since this room is on the 3rd floor and due to the window dormers you have to be careful of not hitting your head. We made a game out of it. This hotel/room has no AC but with the cold night none was needed. The bathroom could use an update. The cold and hot water faucets were loose and the linoleum floor was a little worn. The shower is small due to the sloped ceiling.
Now the Bad: Not sure if this happens every night. But I like my room cool to cold. So I opened the window next to the bed and both night stating around 10:00 pm and lasting till 1:30 am - 2:30 am The hotel regulars and staff start leaving. They must exit the back of the hotel (right under the open window) because you can hear cars starting, people talking, people yelling and cussing for about two to four hours. They literally sound like they are right outside of the window. Even with the window closed, The noise was constant and loud.
I'm sure that the owners may not be able to do anything to prevent this from happening. But I just wanted to gives a heads up about this issue.
Overall the hotel was average. I do think that the desire to put restaurant/bar tables everywhere takes away from the charm of the hotel. But you have to make money somehow.
Would I stay here again? Probably not.

This place was a gem - built in 1893, you check in at the real saloon with antlers and taxidermy everywhere. We had our children with us and reserved the two suites. Extremely affordable and owner greeted us on the second floor. I read the CJBox book before arriving (highly recommend) and she gave us a tour of the famous "room." Owner was the kindest lady ever and kept telling us to "make ourselves at home." I loved the history she shared with us.

Hotel is walkable to the hot springs, cute coffee and ice cream shops next door and bustles at night with people coming to eat in the restaurant. We ate in the restaurant and the salad bar was EXCELLENT! We met a local employee of the restaurant at the hotspring that day and she told us that everything is fresh, made each morning and homemade. Yes it was!

This is a great place to stop in between Denver and Jackson/Yellowstone area. I have traveled all over the country and the charm in this hotel make this in my top 5 favorites.

We stayed at the Wolf over the 4th of July weekend for several nights. We ate at the restaurant the first night and it was good western food. The annual festival was being held right outside our window which was really nice to be able to walk right out. The hotel is low key and well priced. The biggest issue for us was that there was no air conditioning and even though it was in the 50s at night it was still very very warm in our room. I would recommend a stay here in any season but summer.

While visiting Saratoga for my boyfriends dads Birthday we of course wanted to go to the Wolf Hotel for its history and charm, unfortunately that is not the service we received.
The bar side was great the night before Monday, 1/18/2022. The restaurant side the next night was one of the worse experiences I have ever had at this establishment.
I had talked it up from the service to the food from when I had eaten there several years back and was really looking forward to the delicious food and atmosphere of the place.
This however did not happen. When we walked in I gave her the name of our party the reservation was for 7-7:15, She said she wasn’t expecting us until 7:30. This was no big deal we were not in a hurry and were willing to wait.
She sat us almost immediately at the table right next to the entrance and people were going back and forth past us constantly it was very uncomfortable so I asked if we could have a different table. We hadn’t ordered anything yet and I didn’t think it would be a big deal. She said of course and put us at another crammed spot but was much better. I pulled up a chair since our party was 3 not 2 and the hostess, Noel was her name came stomping over to us and yelled at me, “We do not put 3 chairs at that table!” I told her we were told to sit here. She rolled her eyes at me and started cleaning a bigger table right next to us. I then asked her if it would be better for us to sit at the table she was almost done cleaning since there were 4 chairs there. She then told me that she wasn’t expecting us until 7:15 (I glanced at my watch 7:12) and to do whatever we wanted.
My boyfriends dad asked if we should just leave because Noel clearly did not want us there. I told him no that this table would be fine. She proceeded to vigorously wipe down the table while glaring at us.
Our next encounter was with Marg, she was our server. She was very kind towards us and was doing her best to give us good service, but the poor girl was the only server on the floor so she was struggling.
We ordered Margaritas that were okay… not great. And an appetizer . We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops. For $15 after tax they brought us 3 scallops. Not bacon wrapped as stated on the menu, and nothing special and surely not a big enough appetizer for even 2 people. We then ordered another appetizer of shrimp and they brought us 6 tiny shrimp. So we gave up on the appetizers.
Then our food came out it was not hot and very small portions. We decided we would just eat what little food we received and go eat somewhere else.
The Wolf used to be in my opinion one of the best places in town to eat and experience, not this time. And for $90 to be treated like we were a nuisance to Noel, and glared at the whole time was really disappointing . Hopefully they will have different staff and better portions next time.

We had a group of 8 in town on vacation and went to eat at the wolf hotel. After a wait of almost an hour and a half our food arrived. Steaks were burned on the outside, beyond well done and dry on the inside, and we ordered medium rare. Burgers were cold and not the burger that was ordered. All of the food had obviously been sitting out for a LONG time prior to coming to our table. This place is a $50+ per plate restaurant that serves food that is subpar to fast food drive up.

We booked Suite 20, which has two Queen beds because I was with my dad, so we needed at least two beds. After driving 10 hours, we got there and they put us in 19, which only has one bed. When I went down to change, they said they were full. So, we left. Politely, they refunded us. But it left us without a hotel option and far from other towns.

What a wonderful place to stay. Its like going back in time you could almost imagine cowboys tethering their horses up outside and strolling into the bar below.
Our room was large and comfortable, there was no air con but we were able to open a couple of windows and there were fans in both rooms.
Its a shame they don't serve breakfast, as they have a restaurant and bar on the ground floor.

Stayed at the Wolf the first 2 nights of our trip. Never been to Wyoming, but am ready to pick up and relocate. Hotel/saloon reminiscent of what you would think it would be like back in the day. We stayed in the apartment on the 3rd floor. The two flights of stairs were killer, especially dragging your luggage up them and after driving from Denver, but it was a good work out. Apartment was clean and quaint. Ceilings are sloped because it's at the peak of the roof. The shower was a bit small, so if you're tall, it's not the room for you. No air-conditioning and the room was very warm, but it cooled off beautifully once evening set in. Went to my first ever rodeo while there and it was awesome. Would absolutely stay there again.

I have stayed here many times. It is a go to motorcycle trip for me. I have reviewed it before. My stays have always been very good. I had a bad phone experience just before my stay. When i got there check-in took a little time the bartender was checking me in and was a little busy. After waiting 10+ minutes to be acknowledged and receive another drink the bartender was very rude. As i said i have stayed here many times and do know the owners this man needs either retrained or let go. Food was great as always and the room was perfect as usual.

I found this hotel whilst looking for somewhere to stay on our American road trip and booked it as it was halfway between Denver and Cody/Yellowstone. I am so glad that I booked it. Hotel Wolf was just how I imagined it to be, a ‘proper’ traditional hotel in a cute little town. Kathleen was great at communicating with me beforehand and gave us a warm welcome. We loved the saloon bar and enjoyed chatting to the barman and friendly locals. We ate in the restaurant and the food was great, huge portions and excellent service.
The hotel doesn’t offer breakfast but we were extremely well looked after by the owner of the cafe Lollypops next door. He went out of his way to sort us out an enormous sandwich to take with us for lunch on the next stage of our journey.
Would go back in a heartbeat.
