For the price and location this little gem was one of the best and most hospitable places I've stayed in in many years, no, this is not a chain resort but, should be! the rooms are very clean and it was like living in my own log cabin in the woods. The retsurant had good food with great prices and... more

Very nicely maintained facility. Not far at all from Grand Teton Park entrance. If you prefer fancy this is not for you. It is rustic and quaint and quiet. So your car is right outside your door - not a big deal and that makes it easy to bring all your baggage in! We are not fussy travelers and when... more

We read the mixed reviews about The Hatchet but decided to stay here anyway because of its location. We were glad we did! We were 2 couples travelling together but sharing rooms for economy. The room/cabin was not over large but was perfectly adequate for a one night stay and very clean. The location is perfect for visiting the Grand... more

The "resort" appears to be under new management and they are not well informed concerning the area. Traveler assistance is minimal. A better option is the National Forsest headquarters building a mile to the east of the motel or at the RV park a mile to the west. .The rooms are dark and the lighting is poor. Resturant and breakfast... more

We were told by friends to stay here while in the Tetons. Having never been to the area before we went on their recommendation. The place could be great but either lack of direction or funding is holding it back from being a true "resort". It is charming, but for the price there should be a coffee maker with coffee.... more

We found this place after running as quickly as we could from the Togwotee Lodge up the hill. We stayed over Memorial Day so things were just getting up and running, but the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. There was plenty of room (with four of us in a suite) but there are indeed mouse traps... more

We stayed here 2 nights in September. It was $135 per night. When I found it online for cheaper they said they would adjust by $10. Called them 4 times for an email confirmation and never received one. We would never stay here again. The first night they gave us a room that we could not both walk next to... more

The Hatchet was a cozy hotel near the entrances to Grand Teton and Yellowstone. It was by no means fancy but offered comfortable rooms and a decent price. The hotel offers a hot tub with views of the Tetons that the kids used daily. The restaurant(s) offered good food and were reasonably priced. more

As a previous user wrote, the Hatchet Resort is nothing like a resort. It is an overpriced motel. We just returned from 8 nights in WY, MT, and ID and this was the 2nd most expensive place we stayed and it was the worst quality. We didn't have any problems with dirt, critters, bugs, or service, it is just that... more

The setting is removed from the hustle and bustle of Jackson Hole. That is what we were looking for and what we enjoyed. The courntyside was beautiful and the quiet of the night encouraged sound slumber. Yes, the room was small, we thought cozy. The TV reception was limited although we didn't even notice there was a TV until the... more
