Signal Mountain is a well-situated campground in Grand Teton National Park. We camped there for 3 nites in late Aug. One reason we wanted to camp there was so we could rent kayaks at the nearby marina, which we did and had a fun time. We also visited the Colter Bay area and did a scenic hike on the Lakeshore Trail, which goes around a peninsula. They also have picnic tables right on the beach at Colter Bay, making it one of the most scenic picnic areas anywhere. Signal Mountain has an ampitheater where they have interesting ranger presentations every nite. There is also a store nearby where you can buy basic supplies.
While camping at Signal Mtn. we drove to Teton Village and rode the tramway up Rendevous Peak. We also visited the Chapel of the Transfiguration which is really cool. The nearby historic area is also fun and educational. We were kind of surprised to have the Teton Mountains obscured by forest fire smoke for part of one day. The people working there...
