This proved to be a good overnight stop. The room and staff were good and there was nothing to detract from the quality expected of this level of establishment. The price was right - but make sure to request a room not facing the road and railway tracks. The noise can be distracting. more

Nothing stands out as being good or bad about this hotel. I do remember quite a bit of train noise, which I got used to anyway. Good for a night if my favorite hotels are booked. more

This was not a good experience. Here is our list of problems: Personnel who spoke broken english and who could not give us directions. Over charging from what they originally quoted on the phone. We stayed in an "apartment" room which had no furniture in the living area, broken curtains, a closet that had exposed insulation in the ceiling and... more

be careful when you book and make sure you get a written confirmation on the rates quoted. After what i went thru i would not recommend this place to anyone. I was told by thefront desk when i called that the rate would be $159.00 per night. When I got there they told me that the rate was $189. I... more

Just got back from an American Asian tour which booked us at the Howard Johnson in Gillette. BE FOREWARNED - THERE ARE BED BUGS AT THIS HOTEL!!! Both my husband and I didn't know they were bed bugs and how sever the bites were until we got back from the trip (~3-4 days). We saw the bugs on the bed... more

I am currently at this place with a tour and the room reeks of cigarette smoke. I notified the manager that we need a room switch because one of my family member, a child, has nasal allergy. The manager, Mohammad, told us that all the rooms are booked and there's no solution. So we end up opening the windows and... more

Howard Johnson is the new name of an older property. It was tough to find, and we had trouble getting the shower to work properly (we couldn't figure out how to make the water go up to the shower. Neither could the night manager and 4 maids. They eventually let us shower in another room. Later the day manager showed... more

I also got the bait and switch that another reviewer mentioned. I booked a non-smoking room and ended up in a smoking room on a smoking floor. I'm actually writing this while here. It's terrible. There are no other rooms in this hotel, and none I can find in the city. I'm switching hotels tomorrow, however. I do want to... more

Stayed for one night in June, 2007. The hotel is a bit run down but it looks like they are trying to renovate. Has recently changed its name to the Howard Johnson. Is located just off interstate. Good size and clean rooms and friendly staff. Standard budget but with very little for frills. The a/c wasn't working well in our... more

Stayed here for a single night in September 2006, and were we glad it was just for 1 night. Though it was quite cheap we wished we had stayed at another hotel, up near where the restaurants are. The hotel itself is situated next to the railway and also next to the ramp for the flyover. Traffic noise was particularly... more
