This is a motor lodge probably built in the 70's or 80's. It is in an excellent location just west of Cody, very near the Cody Stampede. Beautiful views of local mountains. Our room was VERY small -- just enough room for 2 double beds and a small table and dresser. Old decor but not dirty. Nothing special. Stay here... more

This was a great value motel on the edge of town but close to Trail Town and the Miniature Village. We were expecting a comfortbale bed and a clean room and we were happy with what we got. The bear motifs were fun as others have mentioned. There is quite a lot to do in Cody. We spent a lot... more

We had a pleasant stay at this motel. The motel had a lot of character with the bear carvings and wildlife motif. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They gave us an excellent suggestion for our meal that night. Our room was clean but it was too small for 4 grown adults. We would stay here again if we... more

We stayed here for 1 night on our way to Yellowstone and a subsequent 3-night stay in Shoshone Lodge. We had come from Boulder, CO and had pre-booked the 1-night stay here direct with Big Bear Motel. We didn't use the pool but the pool seemed a nice addition to the motel. The complimentary breakfast consisted of fruit, muffins and... more

we rode from texas to wyoming on motorcycles & stayed for 4 nights at the big bear- the room was spotless & the owners were very friendly & knew great roads to ride, & good restaurants & attractions. This is an older type motel, but it was right on the highway & priced right. every motel in town was booked... more

My favorite part of the motel is the "bear" theme. It was everywhere -- I've included a few pictures to show you what I mean. The only "problem" we had wouldn't have been a problem had we called the desk right away. The air conditioner wasn't putting out cold air, but we were OK so we didn't bring it to... more

If this motel was located on Route 66, it would be at the top of every tourist's list. It is an old motel court with an Old West flavor, with units surrounding gravel driveways, a well-tended mini-park in the middle with pool, playthings, the office, corrals to park your horses, pony rides for the kids, and a friendly attitude. Even... more

This motel was OK - but for what you got it was expensive. I think that as there is a lot of competition for places to stay in Cody, then this motel can do the bare (bear??!!) minimum required. The good points were it is basic but clean, the reception staff were helpful and ot was convenient for Old Trail... more

We stayed here on our way from Iowa to Washington with before spending a couple days at Yellowstone. It was rainy when we got there and had to walk around puddles to get to our room, but being on the edge of town we didn't expect any more. Outside the room there adirondack chairs to sit on under the covered... more

Here's an unusual review -- I accepted an "upgrade" but never set foot in a room. Our family of five made a reservation here based on the more favorable reviews below and because we wanted something close to the Cody Nite Rodeo. My advice: avoid both. The Big Bear folks were pleasant as we checked in, and told me that... more
