I just left Blackwater Creek Ranch. It's a piece of heaven on earth. Nestled in a lush, green canyon with dramatic rock cliffs and water rushing all around, the ranch is perfectly situated between Yellowstone National Park and the town of Cody, WY (15 minutes to park's east entrance and 20 minutes to Cody's museums, shops, rodeo). The staff, meals... More

We actually stayed at the end of June of 2013, but just now getting around to the review. The place was beautiful. The sound of a mountain stream and horses are a nice change from an all work city dweller like myself. Short trip to yellowstone's east gate. About 15min. Then another 30min before you get to the loops of... More

Just left Blackwater Ranch and am very much wanting to return! We were the last guests of the season and felt like the first! We slept like logs in the cabin, enjoyed breakfasts in the lodge, picnic dinner outside our cabin and campfire! The ranch is between Cody and Yellowstone's East Entrance, very convenient to both. We loved the staff.....complete... More

If you want rustic with no flare and outdated everything, this place is for you. Although we are city folks, we have done the outdoors and for better quality and price than this place. Not sure why everyone is saying "Friendly"? We certainly didn't feel that way or got any of that. Not even the cowboy that took us on... More

Being avid Yellowstone adventurers my wife and I wanted something different this trip. We researched all the horse ranches outside the park area. We chose Blackwater based on the customer reviews we read. We were mot disappointed. What a great time with Jonnie and Diana. They truly do make you feel right at home. Don't expect Marriott, but if you... More

Johnnie and Diane made our stay at the Blackwater Creek Ranch a trip of a lifetime! After our flight was rerouted to Billings John made sure we got picked up without a problem. Our seven boy scouts and five adults got to the ranch got our cabins and sat down to a hearty meal. The food was outstanding and the... More

This place was AWESOME!!! No cell phone service which was just what we needed. Close to Yellowstone which was what we wanted. We never ate the food because we felt it was a bit over priced. We stayed in Pawnee and it was always cool in the cabin which made it perfect to sleep in! The camp fires were awesome.... More

We had drove from Denver through Cheyenne (stopped at Walmart to get supplies) and arrived at the Blackwater. You don't want to drive through Yellowstone at night! Yikes. No street lights. This ranch had many cabins. We stayed in the Grizzly which is has 2 bedrooms and an adjoining bathroom. No living room or TV or cell signal. You get... More

Chose this location for a 1 night stay due to the close proximity to Yellowstone and was assigned the 1 bedded Trail's End cabin. Never stayed a ranch before, so maybe this is typical, but it was very basic (bed, dresser, box fan, chair, towels, shampoo (had to request soap.) ) And, maybe they are "impoving" it, but think this unit could... My husband, son and I stayed a week here and loved it from start to finish. The staff was very friendly and made sure that we felt welcomed. Our week was jam-packed with activities. The night we attended the Cody Rodeo, the owners had told the people there that it was my son's birthday and they announced it over the... More
