This is a Prairie style home(think Frank Lloyd Wright if that helps) that has been converted into a Bed & Breakfast. It is right in the heart of Wausau where you can safely walk two blocks to a fabulous gourmet meal or take in theater up the street. The rooms have Stearns & Foster mattresses and the rooms are equipped... more

My husband and I traveled to Wausau on invitation from our son and daughter-in-law, who were there to ski. I was there to get a chance to bond with my grand daughter, since they all live far far away from Oklahoma where we live. We had two dogs, so I was simply looking for a place that would take us... more

I have been traveling to the Stewart Inn for business almost since they opened...for about 6 years! I was looking for an alternative to the dreaded chain hotel. It is the one property that I would willingly give up my hotel reward points for any day! Jane and Paul are amazing! They really appeal to the business traveler; by being... more

We had a wonderful stay at the Stewart Inn. Hosts Paul and Jane were great and the property was fantastic, the room supremely comfortable and the steam shower a treat after a long day on the road. The breakfast perfectly sustained us on another day on the road on our trip up to the Michigan U.P. Too bad for us... more

We just returned from a stay at the Stewart Inn and are still basking in the glow that comes from feeling like honored guests. The Inn has been lovingly restored to its original "Arts and Crafts" style. The attention to architectural details is exceptional - i.e. woodwork, light fixures and art-glass windows are stunning. Within this beautiful ambience, we were... more

In a town with few options for luxury accomodation, The Stewart Inn proved to be the exception. The house is architectually interesting and invitingly warm. The friendly owners greet you with wine & cheese on arrival, leave milk and fresh baked cookies out for you at night, then cook up a delicious breakfast with some of the best blueberry scones... more

I frequently stay at a major chain hotel in Wausau while on business. This trip I decided to bring along my small well-behaved dog; the chain hotel denied my request to allow a quiet, friendly dog in my room (although they allow smoking in rooms) so I searched for a hotel in Wausau that was dog friendly. I found Stewart... more

This historical home is warm and inviting from the time you step inside. The hosts have preserved a landmark mansion while ensuring every modern convenience. Paul had the HD flat screen warmed up in the theater room before we arrived so we could watch our favorite team. Breakfast was a superb treat! If you are visiting Wausau, this is the... more

I headed to Wausau in November 2005 to do genealogy research, and was not impressed with any of the other choices for lodging in town. When I came across the Stewart Inn, I fell in love with the old house. I booked into room #1 (the Guest Room), and loved the comfort. It was also very spacious. Paul and Jane... more

Our family lives in the Chicago area and has season lift tickets this year for the Granite Peak Ski area in Wausau, Wisconsin. We also have a very well behaved and much loved Labrador Retriever that we like to take with us on trips when possible. On our last trip to Wausau in early February we wanted to take Rosie... more
