We loved the wooded sites and the great singletrack! Bathrooms were ok but showers recently redone so they were nice. Didn't have any contact with the rangers. Lots of great trails and paths for the kids. Very quiet overall. There were a lot of fees though. We paid to camp but still then had to pay for day passes to... More

We brought our "fat" bikes and kayaks and camped in a tent. I had been there before with a group of people and had a good time. I knew there was much more to explore so I came back. We rode the fun single track mountain bike trail; and kayaked on the numerous lakes in the area. On Sat. I... More

A very nice state park with excellent hiking and biking trails in a variety of skill levels. Campground is a bit tight to navigate with a bigger camper as the road is quite narrow and winding. Difficult to get backed into some of the sites as well. But once we were settled in, it was fine. A couple of the... More

This is a lovely park with nice campsites and trails. My husband and I love to bring our bikes to get around the park. It has a waterfront where you can swim, rent canoes, etc. but which we have not used. We have camped here for a few nights each August for the past 4 years and will be there... More

While we prefer more secluded and rugged camping venues elsewhere in the state, we decided to make the 20 mile trip to Hartman--for our new teardrop camper's maiden voyage. There's only a few sites there that interest us-- we got one of those, and since it was in the middle of the week, chances were we weren't going to run... More

The beach is really nice and especially good for kids. There is no rocks and the sand and water is clean. Its about 5 feet deep at the swimming rope which is probably 100 feet out from the shore and the beach area is big. There is a playground at the beach. The park has many trails and the park... More

Arrived at beach for a family picnic and to swim. Was unable to enjoy the beach though because it was covered in goose droppings. My daughter contacted the park ranger. The ranger said they were too short staffed and busy to clean up the beach. Disgusting! Won't go there again until this problem is taken care of.

This used to be a serene place to camp, now it is overcrowded and noisy. The ranger behavior is as bad as others have stated here already. One female (we dubbed her "nun with a gun"), was particularly intrusive and offensive. Very sad, what is happening to Wisconsin State Parks. The corruption of the WI DNR is largely to blame.

The rangers are awful. It's like a Nazi camp. In the evenings especially, they sneak up on you from nowhere and tell you you need to be more quiet. What talking around a campfire at 9:00 at night is forbidden? It's constant...move your vehicles, they are parked wrong. We camped here a few years ago with the same thing and... More

We saw the reviews about the Rude Rangers. Take head...these are very true! We had to remove a line put up for towels, which boardered around our tent, because Ranger Sue said she had the right to be on our campsite whenever she chose and did not want it to choke her. OK then Ranger Sue! Were you planning to... More
