We stayed in the Carrisbrooke Room of this bed and breakfast. It was a charmingly old-fashioned room, but not too frou-frou. It had a large sitting area with bay windows. It also had some modern amenities which made the stay much more pleasant, including air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, and a two-person jacuzzi tub.

The staff are extrememely helpful, and they encourage you to make yourself at home. Brought a bottle of wine? You can chill it in the refrigerator, borrow an ice bucket, a corkscrew , and wine glasses. Want candlelight? There are votive candles next to the wine glasses and lighters are in the drawer next to the corkscrews. Want to fix yourself a snack at 2am? Help yourself--the fridge and the microwave are at your disposal.

This inn isn't for everyone. People who can't naviagate stairs or don't like dogs should not stay here. Some of the fixtures are older than others. I found the doors took a little getting used to. Still, the place is... more
