I had found this Bed and Breakfast online. Little did I know that the second weekend in October is one of the premier travel times in Door County. It was very hard to find a room. At $90 (the off-season price) this beautiful Victorian large bedroom was a lot more than I had anticipated. The Sawyer House is a grand Victorian lady with very spacious rooms. Ours was the only room that did not sport a private giant hot-tub jacuzzi right in the room. We had a private bathroom and it was no problem that it was down the hall. The entire house is tastefully decorated with Victoriana but there is no overkill--it is calm, sweet, but not sugarsweet. The hostess Ruth is respectful of her guest's privacy and is not a "talker." My husband and I found that pleasant. She made a wonderful home-cooked breakfast and guests talked with each other at the breakfast served at 9:00 sharp!
