We camped in our trailer at Lake Kegonsa for one night on our way from Louisville to Minneapolis. The camping spots were lovely, tucked into the forest with lots of trees. The campground is quite far off the main road, so for a while I was wondering if we were going the right way! But it was quiet lovely when... More

Reserved for two nights. Left after first night. Lake Kegonsa is dirty and the park has a very limited shore line. A dead Racoon li next to boat ramp. They charge an additional $10 day fee. I asked if my Nephew could pick me up for a golf outing..they said he wouldn't be charged to pick me up. Not true... More

We camped here for 3 nights over Columbus Day weekend. The park was full with campers despite it being late in the season. The sites were wooded and nice sized. The other campers were considerate and kept the noise down. There was a train that went by several times a day with the whistle blowing, but we didn't have a... More

I realize a screaming child cannot be prevented, but irritating nonetheless. I feel the DNR or campground hosts should have addressed this issue. The bathroom/shower building's floor was consistantly wet and muddy...a huge slip hazard. When we arrived in our site, it had several broken bottles on the ground. Again, camp hosts should have cleaned this up!! Our site was... More

Our site (#55) had plenty of privacy as it was fully wooded. It looks like most of the sites have a lot of privacy. The site was plenty deep for our 23 foot travel trailer plus our vehicle and still left room for the kids to play. The site was all gravel so it would have been nice to have... More

First time camping at Kegonsa. We had toured the park and campground about a month before to find sites we liked. When booking the site it showed only a few sites available but when we got there we noticed they had not opened a section and that was the section we had wanted to camp in. I've seen much larger... Our site was not as promised for someone handicapped! We were harrassed for using the handicap bathrooms by other campers and the rangers did not care. The beach was small and the water is dirty. The bugs were overwhelming for a state park. I would not recommend this park when there are so many other beautiful state parks.

Mosquito infested, the lake is rarely up to swimming quality and the forest rangers seem to overuse their authority to be nothing short of harassing. It's camping, not prison. We have been camping here for many years, and it has gotten progressively less fun. The added drive to Governor's Dodge was WELL worth it.

We stayed in this campground for a couple of days on our way west. Our campsite was very large and the restrooms clean. The one downside was that they only provide electric, no water and sewer hook ups. The other neat thing about this location is that they have a specific beach for dogs. Our Lab loved swimming in the... More
