I stayed at the Scottish Inn in Sparta, in September 2009. We arrived in the dark of night and were greated warmly by the kind gentleman behind the front desk. After a warm welcome he quickly got us checked in and explained the room fee (which I felt was a good value) he then said that there would be cereal,... more

This place was unbelievable . A nonsmoking room please---------- I have been in really old bars that smelled a lot better . I have never been in a motel that you did not want to take your shoes off . I almost slept in my car . I felt really bad putting my dogs through this also . Can you... more

We stayed at the Scottish Inn in Sparta this weekend and found the rooms to be clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The fridge came in handy for cooling our beverages, which we enjoyed while watching cable TV after dinner. (We ate at El Vallarta mexican restaurant/bar. Order a tamale for an appetizer; best one I've ever had.) This is a classic... more

I really do not agree with any of the reviews. I booked scottish inn with a credit card and grant you when my husband & I pulled up we were alittle worried BUT when we entered out room it was very nice. King bed, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, hair dyrer and ironing board. Where else could you stay for $55.00... more

Apr 28, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway

Two of my girlfriends and myself headed to Sparta for a two night stay, that Nancy had booked through Priceline, at the Scottish Inn. We were going there to visit friends and see a band that was playing on Sat.(april 25). We were not expecting much because the rate was only $45.00, but what we got was a nightmare. Since... more

I would not stay here again unless I absolutely had to. There were bugs. The bathroom was in very bad shape. The owners could barely speak English. more

The cleanliness was somewhat better than the other reviewer mentioned, it was not great and the linens are kinda dingy. The price is right for this motel, but you should also be aware it's on a busy corner and it's pretty noisy too- I was woken up several times throughout the night. Also, the rooms are directly off the parking... more

This is a tiny roadside hotel located right when you get into town in Sparta--a town which claims to be the "bicycling capital", and the trail from Sparta to Elroy really is worth the ride. This hotel however, was not. I wish we had not guaranteed the room with a credit card, because after seeing the parking lot, we would... more
