Stayed here often and very happy with the atmosphere and the accommodations. Joanie and JR really went out of their way and made us feel at home. Definitely not a new, pricey and corporate hotel, thankfully. Price was right and will recommend and return.

NOT VERY CLEAN, A real downer for our stay, the beds and chairs are something that a yard sale would throw away!!! small 80's type TV, plumbing is horrible, and the gravel in front off the room turns to gravy with a little rain, with no way to clean youf shoe's off before tracking it to your room. we can... My husband and I found the Edge of Town Motel on our unplanned drive to Door County. We arrived at around 9 pm and the owner, Joanie was SUPER pleasant. She was informative about the area and what we could expect from her and her son while we stayed. She pointed out the "goodies" that are always available and then... More

Put your feet up without feeling guilty. A bit quirky and eclectic, the Edge of Town is fun. Joanie and J.R. offer a virtual "open-door" environment including easy access to "goodies" in the office. Outstanding value for money! We'll be back.

2 nites in a small but clean room. Like high-end camping with picnic table, grills, small but quaint water feature and hiking trails. If you're looking for luxury don't come here. However the service was a luxury as Joanie was extra accommodating and made us feel like we were among friends. Fridge and microwave was a nice bonus. Only con... More

Door County is full of quaint bed and breakfasts and luxurious inns with prices to match. If your focus is on the lavishness of your accommodations you probably won't be happy here. If, however, you want a clean, budget friendly motel with an owner who will do anything to make your stay a pleasant one, this is the place! Joanie... More

I recommend this motel for several reasons: firstly the people who run it (and have been running it for years) are so friendly and down-to-earth; secondly, it's a good location right on the edge of Sister Bay; thirdly it's good value & fourthly, it has a waterall and a pink flamingo called Philys!
