We spent a total of six nights at the Port Washington Inn on two separate trips in May and June while dealing with a family illness. This was a stressful time for us, and Rita and Dave could not have been nicer or more accommodating in every way possible. They made a difficult situation much easier. The inn is situated... More

We stayed at the Port Washington Inn for two nights as we wanted a peaceful break in a beautiful location an easy distance from Chicago where we were staying for a week. We could not have chosen better. Rita and Dave are the most charming and welcoming of hosts, quiet and friendly, truly thoughtful, and excellent cooks: all that is... More

We stayed at the Port Washington Inn 3 wonderful nights. The rooms are beautifully decorated, comfortable, and clean. From the moment we made the reservations we were treated with a warmth that was like a well stoked fire on a cold day. The Innkeepers, Rita and Dave made our stay relaxing and friendly. Rita made delicious breakfasts that always included... More

The Port Washington Inn was delightful. I spent two nights there and it was comfy, cozy, and oh so pretty. Rita and Dave were as friendly as could be, and eager to tell you about the locale and its restaurants and attractions, or tell you any thing you'd like to know about the Inn. The breakfasts were wonderful; bread pudding,... More

We stayed at the Inn for two nights over 4th July with our friends from Missouri and loved every minute of it. We were in Dorothy's Room which was beautiful and the bed was so comfy. Rita and David's hospitality was wonderful - Rita's breakfasts and home baking treats were outstanding and David gave us great recommendations for dinner. The... More

Had a wonderful two-day/two-night stay in the Dorothy room. Very comfy bed, lovely room, delicious breakfasts, and gracious hosts. Rita and Dave do a fantastic job of maintaining this beautiful home. Would recommend this place in a heartbeat!

It is always a joy to find a new review left by recent guests who valued their stay in our bed and breakfast inn and have made it a priority to share their experience of our inn. We find that we are likely to concentrate on the 'hands on' priorities of innkeeping while neglecting such opportunities as the 'management responses... More

We stayed there last weekend. The owners were as nice as could be. The breakfasts were delicious. The place is lovely and well maintained . We went for a relaxing getaway and it fit the bill. The town has great bike trails and beaches. We had a great meal at the Twisted Elm and check out the chocolate shop.

We went with another couple and they had the upstairs suite, we were in the Dorothy room. It was nice to sit around by the fire in the upstairs suite and visit with our friends and we even watched a funny movie together - they have a great selection. Great places to cross country ski nearby. The house is beautiful... More

I know, not warm weather. But Rita and Dave provide all the warmth you need with their great hospitality and unmatched cuisine. The Inn is lovely and they are wonderful hosts. Port Washington is a gem of a small town but with ready access to many leisure activities. Highly recommend paying them a visit.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Port Washington Inn is a five room bed and breakfast in the truest sense of the term. The inn was built in 1903 as the private home of George and Eva Blessing. The original character of the home has been preserved during the extensive restoration to provide the Serenity, Elegance, & Comfort for which the inn is known. Beginning our eighteenth season in 2013, we are especially honored that Port Washington Inn was included in the "Around the Corner with John McGivern Show" featuring Port Washington. The inn is also featured on the cover of the 2012 Wisconsin Bed and Breakfast Association Cookbook. Excellent early morning coffee and a full breakfast prepared from scratch and served buffet style in our formal dining room get our guests' day off to a great start, and complimentary beverage centers, homemade treats, and generous common areas inside and outside all receive high marks with our guests. All guestrooms have queen beds, attached private baths, comfortable seating and good reading lights. Guests delight in our attention to all the details which means everything is in readiness for them to enjoy their time together. We invite you to experience the peaceful privacy and generous hospitality which bring guests back again and again. Complimentary WIFI and good mobile phone reception keep guests connected during their getaway. ... more   less
