We have stayed here often over the past several years, as we have family living nearby. We've stayed in all the different room styles, as well as the cabins. The rooms, and the entire property, have always been extremely clean and welcoming. Only once have we had a poor mattress, otherwise we've always been comfortable. The pool area is large... more

This is a nice, out of the way resort with a 9 hole golf course. The rooms are a bit on the high side and the couch, chair definetly need a cleaning job. While we were there - the hot tub did not work (the jets were in constant recirc mode - and we were told it was like that... more

My exxtended family, just spent 3 lovely nights at this Hidden Gem, in the north woods of Northern Wis. It is located on an island, in the Menominee River, on the Wisconsin/Michigan border. The closest town is Pembine, Wis., just a blip in the road, and it isn't too far from Iron Mountain, MI., which is larger. The nice thing... more

We went during the time (as the desk clerk said) when "there is not enough snow for snowmobilers, and too much snow for the golfers", so it was very quiet. Turns out that was an excellent time to go! We had the restaurant to ourselves, and enjoyed excellent food and service. We also had the pool to ourselves, which is... more

This resort is just amazing. Such a walk back in time with very graceful touches. It was very clean, our room was huge and the bed and pillows were as good as, if not better, Hampton Inn beds. The bathroom, closet space, kitchen - everything was perfect. The restaurant was awesome, great food and good prices. The tavern was fun... more

My wife and I were there recently for an office christmas party. upon arrival the hotel looks awesome. After further inspection things aren't quite what they appear. Our bed was collapsed in the center. If you were to lay a string across the bed there would have been a 4-5" depression. I tried to sleep in the bed and got... more

The property is lovely, with a storied past. The hotel is a relatively new addition and it is attractive and well cared for. The room I rented was one of the smaller ones, with a king-sized bed, a sofa, a window and a balcony and a wet bar, mircowave and refrigerator. The bathroom was large. The room was comfortable and... more

My husband and I went to the hotel on a whim when we were looking at wedding venues. We found out a new hotel was being added to the historical property, and we booked our wedding reception there in 2005. Many of our guests, and us, stayed at the hotel for a long weekend in July of 2005. It was... more

Driving up to the resort takes you by surprise. From the middle of a wooded wilderness out pops this lavish island resort. The new hotel added to the resort is absolutely 5 stars. Whether you want to swim, sauna, have a massage, shot a round of golf, take a pontoon boat along the river... your weekend will be too short.... more
