We stayed at Barend this weekend and my family and I had a fantastic time from the moment we arrived. The lodge was beautiful, warm, clean, welcoming and very peaceful (which considering the very windy weather was a great surprise 😀). The staff were very helpful when we spoke to them. On Saturday we managed to fit in a trip... More

Paid over £600 for 4 nights over the new year. There is no phone reception, the paid for internet does,nt connect, power failures (admit the weather was horrid), lodge we rented was poorly furnished, the apex of the roof leaked into upstairs, went for a quick bite to eat early on new years eve and told no food as we... We can only apologise for the power failure due to the horrendous weather conditions we experienced over the New Year period, we were lucky unlike guest in Dumfries & surrounding areas who had to be evacuated due to flooding. These conditions would have affected the WIFI network too. If you would have come to reception to report such problem we... More

The Barend holiday village is lovely if you are looking for a relaxing break with no form of contact.. There is no mobile phone reception for about 2 miles of the area, the available wifi costs and does not work efficiently, if you want to use the wifi in your chalet you must sit at the door and not move,... Thank you for your review. Barend is a beautiful place to visit and majority of our guests, do come to relax and escape for a few days from the chaos of urban life. We are situated 6 miles from the nearest exchange, and the wifi around the site will never be great which is why we at Barend Holiday Village... More

We stayed for 4 nights at the cottage and really enjoyed our break here. Whilst it rained almost continually, we managed to get out and the cottage is a very cosy place to be when the rain is coming down! Had the swimming pool to ourselves and enjoyed a couple of lovely meals in the bar. Beautiful scenery and views.... More

Lovely location, lodges are well appointed. On site bar and restaurant very welcoming. Menu is the same whether you eat in the bar or the restaurant, and you can take your dogs into the bar whilst eating. We will be back.
