This is a lovely bed and breakfast, with beautiful rooms and welcoming, comfortable, common areas. We had such a relaxing, quiet weekend here with friends, thanks to the graciousness of Ken and Sandy, the owners. Each room is unique, with cozy touches such as special soaps, bathrobes, magazines and thick towels. When we returned in the evenings, cookies were available... more

My husband and I have stayed at the Lumber Baron Inn in Onalasa, Wisconsin at least twice a year for the past 15 years. In fact, Ken performed our marriage ceremony at the Lumber Baron Inn on June 10, 1995. The Lumber Baron Inn is a beautiful Victorian home on the Black River painstakingly restored by Ken and Sandy. The... more

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of enjoying the Lumber Baron Inn in Onalaska. From the moment we stepped into the exquisite parlor, and met our gracious hostess, Sandy, we knew that we were in for a memorable stay. The attention to detail was much appreciated. The property was exceptionally clean and beautiful and breakfast was a delightful... more

This place was beautiful. Thw owners left the night we stayed. One women was running the place. We had no hot water for a shower, or our jacuzzi. We tried to call the help, by ringing theor designated doorbell twice, no answer, then their light went out..they did not want to answer the bell apparently. So, we had gone for... more

We enjoyed our stay at the Lumber Baron Inn. The five course breakfast was wonderful both days we stayed. Sandy even catered to me as a vegetarian. Very charming home, right on the Mississippi River, very clean and the inn keepers were very nice and helpful. Would be pleased to stay there again. more

I have stayed at the Lumber Baron Inn several times over a course of many years, and Ken and Sandy always make it a wonderful experience. The house is stunningly beautiful. They make a wonderful 5 course breakfast that you cannot miss! This is great for a one-night getaway, or for a longer relaxing stay. The mansion overlooks the Mississippi... more

Right on the river......lots of nice antiques.....very relaxing. Ken and Sandy made us feel welcome......The breakfast was delicious........five courses on real silver and china. Only drawback was the 'romantic tub'........I am in pretty good shape and even I had trouble using it. more

Gladys and I stay at B&B's extensively in the Minnesota and Wisconsin area. We rough it smoothly on our motorcycle tours! The Lumber Baron Inn is tops in our book. We have returned several times - even in the dead of winter for christmas. You will never be served eggs for breakfast here. You will never have a repeat meal... more

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Lumber Baron Inn. Ken and Sandy are wonderful hosts and do everything to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. The entire home is a breathtaking Victorian beauty and the rooms have a delightful cozyness. We stayed in January and it was a welcome retreat from the frosty outdoors. The views... more
