Bill and I stayed here for three nights and enjoyed the hospitality of Sandy and Ken. They make you feel like you are the best and only guests they ever had. So casual and comfortable, yet elegant and special are the accommodations. We stayed on the third floor with a great view and a lovely room. I am sure we... More

WE have stayed at the Lumber Baron Inn twice when biking in the area. It is a great place to stay, Great views from the attic room of Lake Onalaska. Breakfasts are amazing. Innkeepers are so welcoming they make you feel right at home.

We felt like royalty here! It has been beautifully restored, the room was spacious and very comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, and Ken and Sandy were very welcoming and kind. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotels were booked, we gambled & lost...no wait, we WON! We were fortunate to find a room available at the Lumber Baron Inn & we're sold on B&B's now. We paid the same price as we would have paid for a much more slept-in, much less maintained room. Our room was very clean & comfortable & we were spared from... More

We stayed at the inn last week and are very happy that we did ! The house is beautiful .. bright, clean, thoughtfully composed with antiques, and situated on a beautiful piece of land overlooking the Mississippi. Ken and Sandy are super nice, very down-to-earth, and fun to chat with. Lots of extras like candy, snacks, and beverages. Both halves... More

We stayed here for a weekend getaway in October 2011. The room was very comfortable and the inn is charming. The breakfasts were just amazing. The owners had several suggestions for dinner and were very friendly. There were so many little touches: cookies in the evening before bed, billiards table downstairs, magazines, bathrobes, and a refrigerator with soda. It has... More

I cannot tell you how wonderful our stay here was! The house is lovely, our host and hostess gracious and helpful in telling us about where to eat dinner, and describing their home. It is restored to superb beauty. Our room was lovely and luxurious, with every amenity Breakfast in the morning was a culinary delight, with a variety of... More

This is a lovely bed and breakfast, with beautiful rooms and welcoming, comfortable, common areas. We had such a relaxing, quiet weekend here with friends, thanks to the graciousness of Ken and Sandy, the owners. Each room is unique, with cozy touches such as special soaps, bathrobes, magazines and thick towels. When we returned in the evenings, cookies were available... More

My husband and I have stayed at the Lumber Baron Inn in Onalasa, Wisconsin at least twice a year for the past 15 years. In fact, Ken performed our marriage ceremony at the Lumber Baron Inn on June 10, 1995. The Lumber Baron Inn is a beautiful Victorian home on the Black River painstakingly restored by Ken and Sandy. The... More
