The only real downfall to this hotel would be the outdated rooms. The circa 1980’s room décor left a bad taste in my mouth for the price we paid (approx. $170 on a Saturday). Most of the interior of the hotel was dated too. However, once I got over that I was pleased with everything else. LOCATION: Excellent. Gas station... More

We visit New Glarus at least once or twice a year, to stock up on beer and cheese and, of course, to enjoy the laid back lifestyle. This was our first trip to NG with our 6-month old daughter. The Chalet was perfect! We ended up with a suite because that was all that was left on the weekend we... More

Stayed 2 nights at the Chalet Landhaus. Last time we were there was the late 1980s, so was happy to see that the Landhaus is still a great place to stay. A European style buffet breakfast is included, and has local meats, cheeses and great pastries from the New Glarus Bakery. We used the hot tub and enjoyed it. One... More

A group of eight adults stayed at this charming hotel in south-central Wisconsin. If the staff didn't speak English you'd have thought you were in Switzerland. Very authentic! The rooms are neat and clean. The hotel restaurant is outstanding. Again, very authentic. The Chalet has a sister restaurant downtown, which is even better. The chalet sits on the local bicycle... The facility, staff, and breakfast are outstanding. All of the staff was particularly friendly. Instead of the usual blah free breakfast provided at many hotels, this breakfast featured hot, and cold food, and a real bonus was that there were freshly made bakery items on the buffet. The hotel is located within walking distance of the quant downtown area of... More

The location can't be beat! Walked to everything with exception of the short drive to the brewery. Charming exterior, lobby and restaurant decor. Rooms are dated, but clean. We had a top floor balcony room and loved the vaulted wood ceiling and balcony. Other reviewers complained of noise outside balcony rooms but we didn't notice if at all, although we... More

The outside looks like a beautiful Swiss lodge! However, the rooms are basic and lacking amenities. The bathroom is small, in fact, the door nearly touches the toilet. The bath linens are inexpensive and the sheets are rough. The room lacks lighting and adequate plug-ins for electronics. A continental breakfast is offered during the week and it is also basic.... The rooms need updating big time. I loved the lobby and restaurant decor. I felt like I was in Europe. But the rooms don't have that Swiss feel like the rest of the Inn. The rooms have that "1980's wow is it time to update" thing going. It is obvious that no one has stuck any money into these rooms... More

We stayed at the Chalet Landhaus over the Labor day weekend. We booked a double room, but it had been overbooked that room, so we got the family suite for the same price. IT WAS HUGE and very nice. We rode our tandem bicycle there, and were concerned on storing it. They have a bicycle storage building, there is only... More

Biking to New Glarus with 2 other couples needed rooms for the night - one room left in all of New Glarus due to festival weekend - Chalet Landhaus had a Family Suite that was perfect! Included kitchen area, living room area, very spacious. Friendly and helpful staff, too. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool was nice too. Breakfast buffet... More
