The staff at the Plaza Hotel are the most helpful & friendly of any hotel we have been to. They make the stay a joy by themselves. The hotel is old but well cared for and very clean. The room is large and has an attached kitchenette. The bathroom is very tiny and needs updating. The manager drove us to... More

Suite was clean and large. I liked that it was a nice area to walk around. Beds were not that comfortable and the walls were very thin. There was only one person on staff at night. There were some other issues associated with it being an older building. I would stay here for the charm, not for a "luxurious" getaway.

Honestly, for the location the price is great. If you are a very deep sleeper then you might not have a problem - rooms are VERY loud, both at night and early morning. Definitely request something away from the cafe. For longer stays, the full kitchen is great.

It was average. Too pricy. Very old hotel. There is no Airconditioner and no lift service. The quality of the room is not good like shower, sink, taps, etc. the kitchen was good. The price should be reduced.

The Plaza is close to downtown, with all the theaters, museums, clubs, etc. Yet it's far enough away to be a quiet retreat. I love the Art Deco touches in the building and the simple, tasteful decor in the rooms. Each room has a full kitchen, and a nearby market sells groceries, wines, and prepared foods. The cafe was closed... More

We were looking for a place to relax, get comfortable, not spend too much money, be close to one child at MSOE and another who lived downtown - and hit a home-run with the Plaza. Having the full kitchen meant not having to eat out every meal of the day, having a cold beer or glass of wine without hitting... More

I like to stay at historic hotels, but many of them are exorbitantly expensive. This small hotel is in an urban neighborhood near Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee Art Museum. On Sunday I had the choice of attending one of several churches that were just a few blocks away. The room was like a studio apartment, so it was pleasant... More

Beautiful hotel! The service desk was undergoing renovation so it was unfortunate not to be able to see. But the cafe was amazing with its original bar and stools. Room was cute and clean. No problems with noise from outside the room either.

Family stay for several nights in August 2014. Very mixed feelings about this property. The location is excellent. Easy access anywhere downtown or to the lake. The hotel is part of an Art Deco 1920s apartment building. The rooms are essentially apartments with plenty of room, but little hotel charm. Overall a decent property but few frills.

I have stayed at The Plaza twice now and have enjoyed the stay very much! I love this hotel - the beauty and the history is something I enjoy. If you are looking for the most up to date hotel you may not enjoy this as much as me. The rooms I stayed in were nice, clean and have full... More
