I like to stay at historic hotels, but many of them are exorbitantly expensive. This small hotel is in an urban neighborhood near Lake Michigan and the Milwaukee Art Museum. On Sunday I had the choice of attending one of several churches that were just a few blocks away. The room was like a studio apartment, so it was pleasant... More

Beautiful hotel! The service desk was undergoing renovation so it was unfortunate not to be able to see. But the cafe was amazing with its original bar and stools. Room was cute and clean. No problems with noise from outside the room either.

Family stay for several nights in August 2014. Very mixed feelings about this property. The location is excellent. Easy access anywhere downtown or to the lake. The hotel is part of an Art Deco 1920s apartment building. The rooms are essentially apartments with plenty of room, but little hotel charm. Overall a decent property but few frills.

I have stayed at The Plaza twice now and have enjoyed the stay very much! I love this hotel - the beauty and the history is something I enjoy. If you are looking for the most up to date hotel you may not enjoy this as much as me. The rooms I stayed in were nice, clean and have full... More

Enjoyed the beauty of the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. Being older missed having an elevator. The food was very good at the but service was slow. Overall I would stay again, but request a main level room.

The hotel was nice. The room was spacious and clean. Parking was an additional $10, but the lot that I was assigned to was right across the street from the hotel. The hotel staff informed me that the police were quite strict about overnight parking so I decided to park in the lot instead of trying my luck with parking... More

Modern amenities in a classic setting. No bull$&!t. Felt like home; safe, intimate, honest, romantic, and with a great gyro place next door! Off street parking was a huge plus and who knew I would have a full kitchen in my room. Loved it.

Check this place out especially if you want to get a true feeling for the city. It has a very classic feel, but is located in a very modern and vibrant part of the city. Easy access to just about anywhere you could want to go downtown.

First trip to Milwaukee and we will most certainly be back, even if it's only to stay at this hotel! Great building, great staff, great cafe. Room was perfect size, the hotel is classic and beautiful and the front desk staff were very helpful and accommodating. Dog friendly too!!

Overall nice experience, a few glitches but fun! The staff was great! Loved having a kitchen and the breakfast in the café was wonderful. Nice history along with some quirks in the hotel. It was a good location to downtown.
