The Residence Inn is located in the former Gimbel's Department Store and is beautiful with winding wood staircase, marble floors and high ceiings. The room was very spacious for the 3 of us, had a king bed and pull out couch. the view from the 7th floor facing the lake was spectacular. The free breakfast was nice with a hot... More

We had a wonderful stay at the RI in downtown Milwaukee. The room was very large with a nice view of the river and distant view of the Lake MIchigan. The room was nicely appointed and very clean. The location was perfect since we had tickets for a concert at the Riverside. It was about 1/2 block. There are also... More

As with all residence inns the room was very comfortable and had a serviceable little kitchen. The location is nice, and the building is a cool old department store. the only real downsides are the free breakfast, it was bloody awful, you get what you pay for. The housekeeping service was spotty at best, first room I checked in to... More

Stayed two nights in a studio room, 8th floor. Room had beautiful floor to ceiling windows but, unfortunately, when we opened the drapes, we looked out to a cement wall (that was used often by seagulls and pigeons.) We did request another room, but we were told that the only other available room was over a bar & could be... More

We stayed here for one night while attending a Brewers game & was very pleased with my stay. The staff was very professional & courteous! The room was perfect for our needs & very well maintained & clean. I would highly recommend staying here if in town for a Brewers game or just taking in the downtown sights!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel during our first visit to Milwaukee. The location is perfect as it is right downtown on the river. Many sights and museums are within walking distance. The hotel is a former department store and the rooms are cleverly redesigned with enormous windows and very high ceilings. Our stay included a... We ALWAYS stay here when we need to stay in downtown Milwaukee. I won't repeat all the info in previous reviews, but offer some fresh news and tips: Walk up the stairs in the lobby to access the Grand Avenue Mall (re-enter with your room key). This mall has really fallen on hard times lately, like most downtown malls. It's... More

We've stayed at the downtown Milwaukee Residence Inn four times in the past three years, and it's still pleasant, although the neighborhood seems increasingly challenged by hard economic times, with shops and restaurants closing. But the hotel is close to museums, the lake, and the historic Third Ward neighborhod. There's lots to do within walking distance. The hotel is well... More

The rooms were HUGE! Because this is an old remodeled building the ceiling is at least 15 feet high, with floor to ceiling windows. Excellent Location. We could see the Milwaukee Art Museum from our room. 5-10 min walk to Milwaukee Public Market and the Historic 3rd ward district where a lot of urban gentrification is going on. They had... More

This was our second stay at this Residence Inn. This first time was for a concert at the Bradley Center and this time was to see Wicked. It is a perfect location for downtown destinations. You can walk to wonderful restaurants in the area too. We love staying here. Our first trip was with our 2 adult children and a... More
