This is a beautiful old hotel with modern amenities. The location is great. You're close to the river walk with many bars and restaurants but you can walk around the block and there are also several restaurants. A short taxi ride to most places, including the convention center and the lake (with museum- very cool). We made the mistake of... more

If you are going to stay anywhere in the city, you need to stay at the Pfister. It's in a great downtown location close to everything (and in Milwaukee you need that). It's also in close promixity to the lakefront and the festival grounds, art museum, local theather district and local night spots. The hotel itself is beautiful and the... more

Old-fashioned charm and elegance predominates at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee. I live in Chicago and just drove up for the day with my Mother to visit family who were in town, staying one night at the Pfister. The Pfister is one of those hotels that is a landmark in its town and has retained its grandeur, even as the... more

I wasn't expecting much since as the conference booked a block of rooms at three hotels downtown Milwaukee. However, for $109 a night, this hotel was possibly the greatest deal I've ever had. It blew a four diamond hotel on Michigan Ave in Chicago out of the water. Spacious rooms, adequate fitness center, fantastic staff (my only issue was a... more

Had a lovely one night stay in this hotel. Very elegant with superb service. We enjoyed the indoor pool as well as the hotel bar. Our room was excellent, and we really have no complaints about the hotel. It's fairly expensive, but you get what you're paying for. more

Thank you for staying with us, and for the wonderful comments. The rooftop heated indoor pool with views of the lakefront and downtown area is one of the best getaways in the city - thank you for helping us spread the word.

My Fiance and I booked a weekend trip to Milwaukee to get away from wedding planning for a few days. The Pfister was offering a great deal - for less than $100 a night we got a room, parking and a $50 dining credit for the Hotel's restaurants. The hotel is basically two buildings - there is the 'old' part,... more

The Pfister Hotel is a landmark hotel to the city of Milwaukee - newly renovated in 2007/8. The location within two blocks of the lakefront and great views from Blu are truly wonderful. The two sections of the hotel certainly provide elegant and classic experiences, and all are welcome to come and enjoy a similar experience to this reviewer! Joe...

As others have noted, the Pfister is an old-style hotel in downtown Milwaukee. The lobby is beautiful and management has clearly tried hard to maintain the original grandeur of the hotel. I stayed in the Tower section, which others have warned is not as nice as the older part, but I was only there for one night and didn't mind.... more

Was very much looking forward to my stay at the Pfister. Unfortunately, I never got the chance. They waited until the day before, then moved me to another hotel becuase they were overbooked. Unless the number of rooms in the hotel changed yesterday, there is no excuse for this kind of unprofessional crap. more

I wanted to be sure to extend my deepest apologies for the frustration leading up to the relocation of this reservation. It is certainly our goal to honor all confirmed reserations, and once we knew this was not going to be the case, we reached out prior to the arrival date to ensure we did not have a delay on...

Wonderful classy hotel with beautiful decor (and a lot of it!). The room was fine. Nothing over the top, but clean and comfortable. Beds were soft and nice. Service was friendly and helpful. Location can't be beat. The martini bar BLU is very nice and has a great view of the city. We had a package deal that included breakfast.... more
