We loved the accomodations and the service was outstanding. We were in town for business (conducting benefit auctions) and the location and charm of the Astor exceeded our expectations. As an added bonus, my son and I are training for a marathon in June...so we took a five mile run along Lake Michigan which is very close to the Astor.... more

Hotel rooms are in the process of being redone. Much cleaner property since my last visit. Upgrading internet, etc. New management is taking the update seriously. Location is one of the best in the city. more

My wife and I recently stayed at the Astor Hotel for four nights that seemed like a week and I can think of a great many better ways to throw away $500.00! After seeing our room for the first time we asked to be moved but were told that the hotel was fully booked and no other rooms were available.... more

We were in town for my nieces college graduation and seeing how my brother lives about 2 blocks from The Astor it seemed a natural choice. The family actually stayed there 30 years ago for my brother's graduation and it looks like that was the last time anyone spent any attention to the maintainence of anything in the building. Our... more

My room was clean. I was fascinated by the original single pane double hung windows and bathroom fixtures from the 1930s. The shower head was very low for for a person of 6'2", but the stream was powerful and there was an endless supply of very hot water. The radiator leaked a little steam from the valve in a reassuring... more

Internet does not work, phones do not work. People who are renting rooms long term are posting flyers about slow and irresponsible management. Their restaurant was rated one of the dirtiest places in Milwaukee. Here is the link to a local TV station TMJ 4 website if you don't believe http://www.todaystmj4.com/features/dirtydinning/11149396.html more

I promise you I didn't read the other reviews on this site before I visited the hotel, so when I say it was a creepy place that made me feel like I was in a David Lynch movie, my impression was uninfluenced by anyone else's. I chose the place because of the location -- near a friend I was visiting... more

Came in from out of town to attend a wedding - reception was held at Astor and there were special rates for family members and those in the wedding party. I took the room with a kitchenette, though I didn't need it, as I didn't want a closet-sized room. That turned out to be a good move, as I was... more

We stayed at the Astor since the wedding we were attending was held in one of their banquet rooms. First, we needed two rooms because we were a family of four. Promised rooms on the same floor (they don't have adjoining rooms) and wound up on two separate floors. Inconvenient with young children. The girls room had toiletries in the... more
