Lets start with the positives: the location is great!, the main entrance is nice and big, the staff were all very nice, I love the little "old" touches the hotels has for example the doors into the room& the letter box by the elevators. The hotel has a parking lot the guest can use for $10/night Now the negatives: $10/night.... More

Putting a 5th coat of paint over everything and calling this is a "classic hotel" is simply dishonest. It's an old, musty hotel with no central air, bad radiant heat and dirty halls. The entire place is run down and poorly maintained. We would not recommend this hotel and will never return.

I booked a block of rooms for a wedding and had their confirmation. When I arrived, only half of the rooms were available. People coming from out of town had to find accomodations the last minute at other hotels. My room never saw a maid in the two days I was there. We had to beg for towels for the... More

I loved the idea of this hotel. In the lobby, you can feel the spirit of what this hotel used to be. Unfortunately, the rest of my stay was average at best. The desk workers were often rude and frankly were not very presentable. They did not follow through on requests made (for instance to distribute wedding welcome bags to... More

The hotel is well located in the eastern part of downtown and is convenient to restaurants and the waterfront. The room was clean though nothing special and amenities like an included breakfast and free parking do not exist though there is a restaurant and parking on site. For the rate I paid on hotwire, the accommodations were adequate but they... More

I've stayed here a few times and see that people have some issues with the wifi. I asked the desk about this the first time and the front desk informed me that they were forced to use some older equipment being that they were a historical building. The latest time I stayed here internet was great. I had a work... More

So, this is an old building, but the room we had stayed in also, very obviously, had not been cared for well over the years. The carpet was thin & aged, the paint was thick (often jamming the bathroom door shut), the walls marked from furniture rearranging. There was barely enough room for the bed, desk & single bedside table.... More

Here's our story: First of all, when I called to add another date (a Thursday prior to our scheduled Saturday), the woman on the phone would not give me the same price for the same type of room so we paid $14 MORE on Thursday than on Saturday. Ok, whatever, we arrived. The guy at the desk, Patrick, was wonderful.... More

Very disappointed as we entered it was very encouraging but that soon evaporated as we stepped out of the lift on floor 7 we could feel the heat indicating the lack of air conditioning. I listed that we were seniors to find our room at the far end of the corridor with an open window to let in the warm... More

This is a beautiful historic hotel in downtown Milwaukee near the lake! There are cute reminders of what things once were around every corner. Enjoyed our time there for the a beautiful wedding! The roof top is a nice addition and has some astoundingly beautiful views of the city and lake all around. Only comments, could use a little upkeep,... More
