Checked out of the room today (7/29/2015) after staying two nights for Vans Warped Tour. Our first problem was that the gentleman up front was not happy to be dealing with younger people (we were all 19). His attitude and general demeanor were less than pleasant, and not a very good first impression. We then proceeded to our room, which... More

Right when you walk into the lobby you think you're in a completely different time. It's a really old building but it comes with a lot of character. The rooms are really nice, clean, and the beds are really comfortable. Staff were nice and very helpful. The area is really good too! You feel very safe and secure in the... More

I was in town for a wedding and had no car and a tight budget. The location of this hotel is perfect!! It is easy to walk to the lakefront (about a mile) and is about a half mile from bars and nightlife. The room could use a little work- there were huuuuge stains on the carpet and the inside... More

Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at the Astor Hotel. The room was awesome! Clean, updated (except bathroom), and there was an old school vintage feel too!!! The lobby was old...really old. But, honestly, I didn't mind it. I feel like it took me back in time! The location was good, quick walk to summer fest! Staff was decent and... More

This was a very pleasant surprise..The location was the best in a fantastic neighborhood..High point was the superb customer service, the shuttle, the location..Shuttle took us anywhere we wanted and went out of the way to pick us up when we were "lost.."Somewhat rough on the edges but restoring beauty to a historical landmark..Will return..

Greeted with being told they are out of parking due to wedding. Wedding folks were fraternity and sorority srunk types and their bottles and drinks from last night are still littering lobby area. I have called three times because my tv does not work and still dont have tv. Excellent location but will try to find a manager ( so... More

We arrived at 9:30 pm. At reception, when I said, "Hi! We're checking in," I was greeted with "Really? Are you sure?" That did not instill confidence. Then when I asked about options for breakfast in the morning (since their restaurant was under construction), the clerk mentioned one place and I asked for quick walking directions and he said "You... This hotel is definitely not a 4-star hotel in terms of 'fancy' and 'upscale'. But because of the location and service we received, I'm giving it 4 stars. We had decided to stay the night in Milwaukee for a concert on the evening of 3/27/15. I had booked 2 rooms, one for myself and my husband and a room for... More

I was creeped out from the first step into this place. From the huge vacant drafty lobby, to the coffin shaped room doors, to the filthy pidgin infested window ledges, creeky floor boards and 70s décor… shudder. There is no air conditioning, one would bake during the summer I imagine. In the interest of balance here are the positives –... More
