My wife and I stayed here December a quick getaway for Christmas weekend. This was an absolutely charming B&B (my favorite so far). More than normal amount of amenities. We stayed in the Doctor's Study, which is extremely large and also extremely quiet. Very large double shower, a separate room with whirlpool and sitting area. The house is a step... More

My husband and I spent a night here in the Clara's Veranda room. This room was so pretty, and we had an amazing night's sleep. We'd love to revisit. The bath was large enough for two, which was a lovely way to unwind. We also used the sauna in the basement and thought that was wonderful. The house itself is... More

We stayed here for one night during the week. Room was nicely appointed and clean. Bathroom was luxurious. The owners have taken great pride in restoring this hidden gem. Breakfast was delicious. We had dinner at The Old Feed Mill and would highly recommend it as well.

This is our 3rd visit to Walking Iron. It is our favorite Bed and Breakfast. It is in a sleepy town, but there are things to do close by. The hosts are friendly and helpful. The breakfast is awesome, and we always seem to have a wonderful conversation with other guests. This year we visited House on the Rock, about... More

We stayed in Lenora's garden view room and it was spectacular! It was nice to have the big room and the spacious bathroom. The Whirlpool was nice. Karissa and Dave were excellent hosts and the breakfasts were superb! I would highly recommend for a stay. They have done an outstanding job of refurbishng the home and you almost feel like... More

It's hard to imagine a better place to stay anywhere around here. The Walking Iron has the amenities you want in a luxurious stay away from your own home. The history of the old home is well displayed and beautiful. The grounds are wonderfully maintained and a joy to walk around And, of course, there's the food! The biggest problem... More

Stayed in the Doctor's Study which was fantastic. Great decor and loved the double shower and whirlpool. The location was great as we walked to everything in the city-Microcar Museum, church, restaurant, and the historic downtown. Breakfast was excellent and held us til dinner at The Old Feed Mill.

Everything was perfect. An old home transformed into a B&B can sometimes feel claustrophobic. Not Walking Iron. Even the bathroom was huge. The location was perfect. We spent time at the American Players Theater, Spring Green, wine tasting at Wollersheim and Rock & Wool in Poynette and tasted spirits at Driftless Glen in Baraboo. Walking Iron was clean and the... The food is great, the hosts very nice and the rooms are very clean. The style of the house and the decor are great. The front door could use a closer so it does not slam every time a guest come in or goes out. Some guest are not as courteous or mindful and let the door slam every time... More

The owners are welcoming and work hard to maintain this beautiful property (not always easy with a 19th century house). Two of the rooms and spa are in a modern addition in the rear, however its architecture is consistent with the original building. Remaining rooms are in the original house. Guests have access to the outdoor porch - nice for... More
