Punta Islita could not be a prettier setting. It is set high on a hill with breathtaking views of the ocean. When we arrived, we were greeted with hot towels and quickly escorted to our room. We stayed in a casita with sweeping ocean views, the room was simple, but nicely appointed. Our favorite part of the room was the... More

I spent five nights at Punta Islita prior to embarking on a cruise through the Panama Canal. Unfortunately, four of the five days were either mostly rainy or very windy. There was some sun, and of course the day I left it was nice (my typical luck), but the weather only added to the wild beauty of this place. Punta... More

There are some basic things hotels should do: good accommodations, good food, and good service. Of course five-star hotels should do them better. Punta Islita did not live up to our basic expectations on all three criteria. As to accommodations, the setting, grounds, pools, and guest buildings of Punta Islita are indeed beautiful. And in general we were happy with... More

This is my first time writing a review for Trip Advisor. I felt compelled to write a review about Hotel Punta Islita because of the extremely disappointing experience we had on our honeymoon. To be fair, I will also be writing a review of Hotel Gaia in Manuel Antonio which far exceeded our expectations. Let me begin with something that... More

Wow! We stayed at Hotel Punta Islita Nov 2nd-9th on our honeymoon and had a hard time saying goodbye. The hotel is so beautiful and the whole experience was nothing short of amazing. We stayed in one of the suites and it was immaculate. The room was clean and large and beautifully decorated. The jacuzzi and the hammock in the... More

We traveled to HPI in January during the dry season and the weather was far and above anything you could every wish for from a beach resort--perfect time of the year to go! Accessing the Resot is quiet secluded so I definintely recommend flying in--the roads are unmarked, unmaintained and BUMPY! The flight was very exciting too--just be ready for... More

We stayed at Punta Islita for 4 nights in the middle of our honeymoon as the 'relaxing treat' part. The hotel surpassed our expectations. Firstly we had the most stunning view from our standard suite overlooking the ocean. The actual suite was beautiful and had everything you needed and more. The hotels facilities were fantastic and the infinity pool had... More

We stayed for 4 nights in Sept 08 (supposedly the 'green' season, but the weather was great). The hotel is fantastic - everything you expect from a hotel at this price. The rooms are of a very high quality. We were only in a standard room, but the beds/linens/toiletries/fittings were all top end. The restaurant was great too: breakfast was... More

We stayed at the Punta Islita for a second honeymoon and it was the best! Great location for a true getaway. Very romantic. Great staff and fantastic frozen cocktails! Food is not so good, but there is a little place right outside the gates of the hotel that was cheap and fine. We walked there at night and were surrounded... More
