From the moment we checked in, we recognized the Karsten Hotel to be different from your typical hotel. Between the laid back staff, the fantastic décor, the phenomenal food, and the perfect location, this place is like no other. Being the 4th of July, we had the perfect view of the fireworks over the lake from the hotel’s inviting front... More

We booked this hotel for the price and location as we planned on exploring Door County. The hotel is old and has lots of character and lots of great stories too. Feels like you have gone back in time here.

I and several others from my company stayed at this hotel for several months, and moved to various rooms during the stay to experience the differences in the decorations, so I can attest to how they run the place and what the staff is like. I also found out from first hand experience there are some locals who have a... More

Wish we had stayed at a basic Super 8 or Comfort Inn. Our room at the Karsten had no curtains on the window, sun came up at 4:45, we were facing east. Come out of the bathroom to face curtainless window. That's the bathroom with a door that did not close. For a few dollars they could have had a... More

Checked in, requested room 302 when booking, gave us the wrong room. After getting that corrected, saw room was not swept, window dressings(if you would call them that) were filthy, and the whirlpool tub was gross. Luckily I filled it with water and ran the jets before getting in. I stopped the jets, and the bottom of the tub was... More

Was looking forward to staying here and was very disappointed from the moment we checked in. Randy wasn't very friendly or personable. We tried to strike up a conversation and got a look like we were talking a foreign language. After we were given our key, never told we're our room was located or anything about the continental breakfast was... More

Went to check in front desk said place had ghosts. I blew it away. In the middle of the night, someone tried to get in room by turning door handle. I went to check and no one was there. Then I heard walking needless to say I never slept. Made my next day at work suck. Take it for what... More

We were in Green Bay for a college basketball game and stayed overnight at The Kewaunee Inn. (Packers had a game scheduled; all rooms in G-B were booked.) Admittedly, it's one of the largest Bed & Breakfast establishments I've stayed in. The hotel is quite comfortable. The room was basic with decorations reflecting nature. It was no-frills, but that was... More

Having lived in the surrounding area nearly a half century ago... it was more than wonderful to return with a nights-stay at the former Karsten Hotel. The age of the hotel dates back to 1912 and has maintained much of its original decor. We found the entrance and the appealing lobby area to be most inviting and very well-kept. Being... More

Having exhausted any chance of getting a hotel in Green Bay for the game, we trolled the internet and found the Kewaunee Inn. I am so glad we did. The price was very affordable and the hotel was full of great history. As we entered, we saw a beautiful lobby area. The young man at the desk got us checked... More
