My wife was born and raised in Kewaunee, so a few weeks ago, we wanted to make a trip there, pay respects at her parents grave site, enjoy the summer weather, and stayed at The Kartsen. Our experience overall was wonderful. We were even nicknamed Mrs. Marriott and Mr. Hilton after our stay! We received a spacious room with an... More

THis was the worst experience we've ever had. Upon check in I told the guy behind the counter that we'd be using different credit cards than we used to hold the room, which he said was fine, THEN, we found that there was no hanidcapped accessible rooms and no elevator for our 2nd and 3rd floor rooms, and 2 of... Century old hotel in downtown Kewaunee, one block from the water, has been extensively renovated - spacious rooms and comfortable beds. The lobby has lovely historical décor. Hotel bar offers pizza. Continental breakfast in dining room. Front porch has chairs to relax and enjoy the lake view. Staff was friendly and helpful. The housekeeping was inattentive though. Location 45 minutes... More

The Hotel is right by the water. Great service and great views. We really enjoy the town and the hotel just tops it off. The history of the hotel is fascinating. Great original decor and much to enjoy.

I was really impressed with the decor and welcoming feeling I got the entire time we were at the hotel. The rooms were homey with hardwood floors, although I didn't experience any ghostly activity. We liked the attached bar and had a good dinner there, it was nice not to have to leave the hotel for dinner. I liked all... More

We stayed May 29 + May 30 in connection with a large group from our area, The Inn was, what we had looked up as others did also to be what we knew to expect and anticipated. Nostalgic Haunted and Happy. All people involved from the time of arrival to time to head back home were outstanding. We had inadvertently left... More

There are both pros and cons to this hotel and depending upon what you are seeking on a hotel and location , it would be up to you to decide. It is not a cookie cutter chain so for us that was a positive. First off this is a historic hotel, that has some old furnishings mixed with new and... More

I took my daughter (41 years old) and granddaughter (17 years old) for an overnight stay on May 22, 2015. As we are really into the paranormal, I had to book Room 310 - Agatha's room. Well, all I can say is that Agatha was certainly there with us that night and she did not disappoint us. After we settled... More

My husband and I stayed overnight and had a really great time! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again! Love all the history of the hotel and it is s beautiful little town. What the place needs is a developer who has the passion for this lovely lake town and the capital to bring... More

Loved it! What a blast to stay at. Forget the cookie cutter chains and the smothering feeling of a B and B. Reminded me of an inn in Europe. Wide hallways, great ambience, cozy and relaxing. Some furnishings in the shared areas should be retired but the rooms themselves were nice and well appointed. It is haunted but in a... More
