To celebrate my 50th I decided to plan a getaway with some girlfriends for the weekend. We didn't want to drive too far so I found Phipps Inn while searching B&Bs. The moment we drove up to the house we fell in love with it. We were welcomed by Mary Ellen who showed us around and made us feel "at... More

I traveled with three girlfriends to Hudson, WI from Minneapolis to stay at the Phipps Inn and had a wonderful weekend. We arrived Friday night, decided to have drinks on the porch as it was a beautiful summer day. Mary Ellen and Rick were very inviting, offered to bring ice out to the porch for us and were just as... While the Inn was beautiful, we felt that we were imposing on the inn keepers. Another couple was leaving the house as we arrived and as they held the door for us, we walked into the foyer. Apparently, there is a very small card on the exterior of the home informing "guests" that they must ring the bell to enter.... More

Thank you for the review. We apologize that these guests did not feel welcome. However we are at a loss as to why it took them 11 months to post a review. We do have a sign by the doorbell. It is not a “very small card.” It is an 8”x10” framed sign where we politely ask guests and other... More

This is a very comfortable Inn with beautiful period furnishings. Ate some delicious and unique tasting breakfast in a friendly family style atmosphere. I had the Master suite all to myself and it was kept up perfectly each day by the staff. Mary Ellen and Rich have paid close attention to every detail and are wonderful hosts. I hope to... More

I recently had to travel to Hudson on a business trip and was fortunate enough to choose the Phipps Inn to spend my 2 night stay. Rich and Mary Ellen were wonderful hosts. Very welcoming and they had great advice for choosing area restaurants for my 2 night stay. I took a brisk walk in the morning before breakfast thru... More

My wife and I enjoyed a one-night stay in the Queen Anne suite of the Phipps Inn in Hudson. This is a very fine B&B in a quiet neighborhood, easily within walking distance of a number of shops, restaurants, parks, the library and the arts center in downtown Hudson. There is plenty of on-street parking and one small lot for... More

We are happy to provide hot beverages in the evening when they are requested either at check in or if the guest rings the innkeeper call button later on. Most of our rooms have doors on the toilet area of the bathroom and room layout/privacy concerns are easily answered ahead of time with a phone call. More

The Phipps Inn is in a class of its own. This B&B has it all -- gracious, thoughtful and interesting hosts; a beautiful 19th century home lovingly cared for; comfortable and well-appointed rooms; scrumptious breakfasts and nearby fun and interesting attractions. To add to that, we had perfect springtime weather (which has been in short supply this year). MaryEllen and... More

Location of the B&B was perfect, just a short walk to wonderful downtown shopping, eating and drinking. The hosts were super friendly and the breakfast was amazing. Loved, loved, loved, the free library outside of the inn. Can't wait to return.

Mary Ellen and Rich were the perfect hosts for our weekend trip to Hudson. They are very active in their business and take care of the smallest details in order to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. They have been perfecting their trade at the Inn for 12 years now. The rooms are spotlessly clean, floor to ceiling. The rooms... More

We stayed compliments of the owners who donate their entire Inn on Veterans Day. We were lucky enough to stay in the Peacock Room – peacocks everywhere! We loved the huge waterfall jacuzzi bath, plush towels and bathrobes, the wonderful assortment of toiletries and bath salts. The mahagony half-tester bed and magnificent canopy, in combination with the Comphy sheets and... More
