The best part of the whole experience is the breakfast! It seriously makes up for everything else. I should first state that my husband and I are a young couple, who would probably never stay in a B&B if we didn't have a gift card. We stayed in the Queen Anne room, which is interesting in itself. It's a large... More

Thank you for the review. It's great to hear that our guests enjoy our breakfasts because making something that guests really like is one of the things we enjoy most about innkeeping. We are in the historic neighborhood of Hudson so we do have neighbors who have backyards. But if you're looking at the sunset over the St. Croix River... More

I visited the Phipps Inn (bed and breakfast) this weekend and was struck by the beauty and ambience of the house. Spacious and architecturally striking, charming hosts. Nothing "old house" about the Phipps -- it is timelessly elegant.

Beautiful building. Delicious breakfast. Amazing hospitality! Quaint little part of town. Close location to Stillwater and the Twin Cities so if you have any business or pleasure to attend to there it is not a far drive. Free parking.

Thank you for the review. Staying two nights, as you did, gives you a great feel for the area and a more relaxing stay. And you get to try more of our fabulous Hudson restaurants. More

The Phipps inn is a very relaxing and wonderful environment. It's very clean, comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast is yummy and beautifully presented. Being able to eat ensuite was a relaxing part of the get away.

We're glad you liked the option of breakfast in the room. We've offered that since we started as innkeepers 14+ years ago and, on average, more than half of our guests choose that option for one or more days of their stay. Of course, we love to serve guests in our elegant dining room too, but it's guest choice! More

We were in town for only the night but would have liked to stay longer at the Phipps Inn. The inn was all decked out for Christmas with multiple trees and many other decorations. What a fun time of the year to stay here! Check in was quick and easy. We stayed in the Queen Anne room. It had a... More

My bride of 20 years surprised me on our twentieth anniversary to this historic Victorian Inn, the "Grande Dame" of Queen Anne houses from 1884. Each year we rotate to give each a relaxing experience, so next year is my turn! We have always admired the town of Hudson but have never spent time to explore. Well, now we had... More

We booked the Phipp's last minute on our drive down from Duluth for a quick get-away. We thought a bed and breakfast would be a nice change from the normal hotel, and we liked the history this location offered. We had looked at other BNB's in Stillwater but they were all booked, so we were leery that there was a... More

We have been making the Phipps Inn the place to spend our anniversary every year for several years now. This place has become very special to us along with Mary Ellen and Rich. They are the perfect hosts. The beds are so comfortable and the sheets are amazing. The food is scrumptous. You will not leave hungry. This is the... More

My husband and I make a habit of visiting B&B's all over the U.S. This one was one of the best I think. The home is a lovely historic house built by William Phipps in 1884. The house retains much of its original charm with the top floor's ballroom still partially intact due to two rooms being built for guests.... More

Everything about this stay at Phipps Inn was outstanding. I booked same-day and our check-in was after hours, Mary Ellen was extremely accommodating and friendly. This is an 1880's Victorian-style mansion and it's very charming and well maintained. Also, very comfortable. The room and amenities were also excellent, if quaint. The breakfast was the highlight of the stay, we chose... More
