We were in town for only the night but would have liked to stay longer at the Phipps Inn. The inn was all decked out for Christmas with multiple trees and many other decorations. What a fun time of the year to stay here! Check in was quick and easy. We stayed in the Queen Anne room. It had a... More

My bride of 20 years surprised me on our twentieth anniversary to this historic Victorian Inn, the "Grande Dame" of Queen Anne houses from 1884. Each year we rotate to give each a relaxing experience, so next year is my turn! We have always admired the town of Hudson but have never spent time to explore. Well, now we had... More

We booked the Phipp's last minute on our drive down from Duluth for a quick get-away. We thought a bed and breakfast would be a nice change from the normal hotel, and we liked the history this location offered. We had looked at other BNB's in Stillwater but they were all booked, so we were leery that there was a... More

We're glad you found us. Hudson is a great little town with lots to offer - and we don't check those Minnesota IDs at the border! More

We have been making the Phipps Inn the place to spend our anniversary every year for several years now. This place has become very special to us along with Mary Ellen and Rich. They are the perfect hosts. The beds are so comfortable and the sheets are amazing. The food is scrumptous. You will not leave hungry. This is the... More

My husband and I make a habit of visiting B&B's all over the U.S. This one was one of the best I think. The home is a lovely historic house built by William Phipps in 1884. The house retains much of its original charm with the top floor's ballroom still partially intact due to two rooms being built for guests.... More

Everything about this stay at Phipps Inn was outstanding. I booked same-day and our check-in was after hours, Mary Ellen was extremely accommodating and friendly. This is an 1880's Victorian-style mansion and it's very charming and well maintained. Also, very comfortable. The room and amenities were also excellent, if quaint. The breakfast was the highlight of the stay, we chose... More

This lovely, spacious Victorian home has plenty to offer visitors. We were delighted to be offered our choice of rooms that were available. Good thing my husband is decisive as each one was gorgeous and had its own personality. We stayed in the very large Master Suite with a wonderful whirlpool to relax in. Rich and Mary Ellen have certainly... More

If you are looking for a fun, relaxing B&B, Phipps Inn is the place. Mary Ellen and Rich are welcoming and friendly. The house and bedrooms are beautifully appointed and the home is exquisitely maintained. Every amenity you can think of is provided. The breakfast was a 3 course delight. Phipps Inn is everything a high class B&B should be.

The inn isn't very impressive walking up to it since it is all painted white. I think it would look so much better with a new paint job. IT is a beautiful house, nonetheless. When we checked in she did not hear the doorbell so we walked in as another couple was walking out. I don't think she liked that... More

This guest’s preference for non-white houses should not be interpreted as a lack of maintenance. The Phipps Inn is a Hudson landmark and has been white for decades. Prior to that it was dark grey but has never been a Painted Lady Victorian. When it again requires painting it will likely remain white. The usual comment heard here after breakfast... More

My husband and I spent the night at the Inn to celebrate his birthday. We stayed in the Peacock Room and had a wonderful experience. The room (and all of the rooms) was beautiful and so enjoyable. This was our first stay at the Phipps Inn and highly recommend it for a getaway in Hudson Wisconsin. We met Mary Ellen... More
